  1. We have bound our problematic MacBook to AD as well. I was thinking whether it is something to do with any SSD settings like TRIM which could be causing the issue.
  2. My apple tech also noticed that on the MacBook pro, if there was a USB device attached at boot i.e. a USB mouse it would hang. TBH we haven't had time to try and replicate faults as its the heads swanky new toy lol.
  3. We have this issue with a brand new MacBook pro 13" - can I ask if you are using old HDDs or have you done, like what we have done and upgraded to SSDs?
  4. Hello and welcome. I will throw Acronis true image into the ring...
  5. We have a 5406ZL core switch and various gig/fibre/PoE modules - been running for circa 6 years. The chassis failed a couple of years ago, but once support was called, we had a replacement at our door next morning. Can't say fairer than that
  6. I want to start, but I get frustrated by crimping the plugs on as the wires seem to move away from the connectors. Anyone got any tips lol?
  7. Nothing, can't beat a pair of Technics 1200s, mixer and vinyl
  8. Afternoon, I have a bit of a head scratcher here and could do with a few suggestions, we have four CC4 Anywhere virtual servers and we use follow me printing with Papercut release stations. We have two virtual print queues dished out one for mono and the other colour. All the papercut redirections from virtual queues match up. We can authenticate and see all the print jobs, but every time we try to release a job it seems to disappear, where Papercut seems to delete the job. If we go straight to the advanced tab and put a tick in the radio box for "print directly to the printer" it then seems to work, but negates the release function that papercut controls. Some strange reason it can work fine if we send a test page to each queue, but documents just disappear. I believe we may be able to rule out drivers, citrix policies and any papercut settings, but this seems to point towards a spooling issue on the print server? Why would test pages work fine and not any other docs chucked at it? and it work fine from physical workstations as the staff and pupils are printing from physical CC4 workstations. Any heads up would be greatly appreciated on this matter
  9. Hi HaLLb15 - Yes just cracked it, I left out the timer:0 all is good!
  10. Hi there, Wasn't intending to install but just drop the exe into the root of the C drive of each workstation. Problem I have is that when I have tried to run a script, the application launches as well as the bgi file?
  11. Morning, Just saw with interest the little application called BGinfo.exe which displays the pertinent information on the desktop relating to network/user/computer info. This would be beneficial for staff when reporting issues. Would it be possible to create a RM Package of this which could be pushed out to all the workstations that has been preconfigured with our chosen data? Regards, AT

  15. Yes, I will take a shot in the dark that you are asking pupils to use Google Chrome and it is the first time they will have logged into the PC. Get them to open IE and browse to a website, close it and then open chrome. We are having that issue here at the moment.
  16. Could I ask where you have found the parentpay integration tool? I cannot find it anywhere?
  17. a) Does your school charge students for printing? YES, but we give each pupil £7.50 of credit at the beginning of each academic year - VIth Formers studying photography will get an additional top up half way through b) If so how did you communicate to the parents? Via new to Y7 Parent packs c) Did you top up students credits from the school, and only if it gets used up, ask parents to top up? Self Top up via the papercut voucher scheme. Parents can pay via parent pay, bursars have admin rights to adjust credit. d) Do you carry over credit? Yes e have started to allow this, using RM printer credits system before papercut, made this nigh on impossible. e) Do you add credit per month or per term? No - Only once per academic year
  18. Few things stop me from upgrading, I have a small living room, I never watch TV and I don't do gaming. In fact if it wasn't for my son I wouldn't bother owning one. Might just run this until it goes pop lol. If I could get a large LED monitor instead that would do me nicely.
  19. I've only a 26" Samsung 720i TV in the living room. *sighs*

  21. We use the one which is incorporated in to roombookingsystem - it allows to filter by department and is so easy to use.
  22. For me as an ex-pat who has spent 50% of my life on each side of the border, a yes would be an interesting time. Old Scotland would cease to exist and a new nation will be born. That means that I would lose my nationality and become a neutral and for one would be pleased. From what I have seen from the last few months online from Yes/No/Scotland/England camps is bile and hatred being spewed, families falling out with one and other etc. over this referendum. Nationalism and patriotism is another social cancer like most other "isms". I fail to see why people get so wound up about their place of birth, It is no something that was in their control and merely the place their parents got their leg over, if people put as much effort into pursuing personal goals then society might be a bit better. What ever way the vote goes, near on half the voters won't be happy with the result making further divisions within communities. Such is life....
  23. Try building a vanilla machine, then use something like double driver to strip out all the drivers (this makes it easier to then import them into the RMMC) - when creating a build disk it is important that you point the disk to be compatible with both PXE 3.1 and Win 7 32 bit OS. Failing that and we have had an issue with certain machines taking an Intel HD4000 VGA, is to take the .exe and create a deployable package with switches for silent install, plus overwrite (this method has got me out of the pooh over the holidays).
  24. We have just over the summer installed in excess of 330 new workstations in the school with intel HD4000 VGA, our classrooms have a mixture of old promethean IWB and projectors and Hitachi FX77 DUO/TRIO boards with either a ED A101 or ED A202DN projectors. Just wondering how people set them up, we are a CC4 network so I have set the initial build process to the max 1920 x 1080 resolution. The problem is that the IWBs are of 4:3 ratio whilst the TFTs are 16:9. Cloning just looks messy and we have to drastically reduced the resolution on the TFTs and that looks hideous (presentation laptops with WS display auto compress to 4:3 ration too!). What my question is, is how do you set your displays up. Is there away we can put an answer file into our driver package or a reg frag that would contain the settings for the primary and secondary screen and lock these settings? Is there any easy way to clone a 16:9 screen to a 4:3 projector without having to extend the desktop and have two separate resolution settings? Any ideas and feedback welcome! AJT
  25. Morning, During the summer we are replacing our desktops with new ones and we presumed the company who we leased them through was taking care of uplifting etc, we have just had it dropped on us from a high height (after working out our summer leave etc) - that we are to package up, bubble wrap palletize (not a word, but hey I am feeling creative) and shrink wrap the pallets. If we knew this from the offset we would have been prepared. Does anyone know of any Home Counties or London based companies who would quote us for this service of around 260 PCs plus later in December around 160 Laptops? Cheers!
