This - I would suggest creating a printed doc and attaching the paperwork to the pc in an envelope showing the work taken place and asking the customer to provide feedback by providing the URL - less intrusive and more voluntary than "hijacking" their browser lol.

I did take that into consideration - we only use 120gb HDDs which means in a school of 1400+ pupils the local profiles didn't take long to fill up a large percentage of the SSD (especially with Adobe and Chrome being the biggest bloaters). All our kit in on a 3 year perpetual refresh with warranty right up until day they are picked up, so we are quite happy to cain them lol.
-
Wouldn't give me cause for concern if we are talking conventional HDDs...
-
I run delprof2 daily on SSDs with roaming profiles - pupils are at desktop in around 7 seconds even when a new local profile is created (workstations) add around 10 seconds extra for wireless laptops.

Afternoon all, After fannying around with my first and (hopefully last) MS Vista system restore, I have had issues with WSUS updating anything past IE7. I have taken the bull by the horns and I am in the process of running the WSUS Offline application which allows me to download all WSUS updates to a USB stick or hard drive and run the app from there. I have chosen to download all updates for all OSes, just wondering if anyone else is or has used this and whether there is a quick way to update the local repository on say a weekly basis. I may decide to use my NAS drive at home to host this on if it does?

Is the user too near or over their disk quota per chance? What we usually do when we get these symptoms is to delete their application data folder and a new one is created when user logs back in again. (RMCC4 network)

Can you install CC4 RMMC on standalone computer?
andyturpie replied to The_IT_Guy's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Closest thing you could do would be to smart client his laptop then allocate the RMMC product after. -
I can understand hospitals, but banks have no excuse lol £$£$£$

Was in a hospital the other day and was surprised to see they still use XP clients. Also I think my local branch of Halifax still use XP as far as I can see too.

Ah yes could be NT4 logon screens....

What do you think it is? I am having a brain-phart of a day and cannot make out what is on the monitors lol
-
I could recommend Copylogic - amazing customer service.

Looking at replacing my creative Zen XFI2 machine with something a bit more upmarket - has anyone owned any of the Cowon or iBasso devices at all and how do they compare to mainstream devices? PS *suggestions not suggerstions

Ah, politics and media all designed to control, install fear and divide - A bit like other methods documented a couple of Millenniums ago. I declared myself religiously agnostic and politically atheist a few years ago now and glad to have done so - less stress

I spend 37.5 hours a week with my winkey in my hand

I could be passive aggressive to those who assume that I should belong in a pigeonhole or their perplexity when I tell them I have no desire to conform. lol.

Ha - Was in the pub on Saturday night and as usual "the urinal small talk with a stranger" starts (why it has to start in the urinal and not by bars I don't know) Him- How are you doing? Me - Not bad Him - What team do you follow? Me - None can't abide anything which is tribal and promotes division. Him - Really? That's a Scottish accent isn't it? Me - Yes Him - You must be happy with the outcome of the general election then? Me - Not really as I said I really can't abide anything which is tribal and promotes division. Him - Errr.... Me (Zip!) - See ya

subtw4ts?

And this is why I have absolutely no interest in politics - another tool designed to divide and conquer and have the masses bickering at each other. The only two categories should people fall under, decent people and tw4ts.

What's the difference between a crow and a raven? A raven has got 6 pinions on each wing and the crow only 5 pinions. The difference is a matter of a pinion.

True, but I would rather the HS2 cash went into the R&D of maglev rather than just treading water
-
I did, maglev - anything else just lacks future vision.
-
Train driver and washing machine repair person. It's all to tempting to start retro-development.
-
For me its far too much money for too little benefit. I would rather we spent the cash in a more modern "maglev" network, where we would see some real benefits to travelling around the country.

We didn't. Then we took away staff laptops
