Not got some proxy settings on the ipad which are conflicting? -
Liquidise it and drink it through a straw.

If kids are engaged then they will learn in any environment. I think this should be applauded tbh.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place (HELP!)
andyturpie replied to andyturpie's topic in Licensing Questions
Cheers guys, I must stress this is a procedural issue not technical, @CAW-James no one at the school is in the agreement plus all the employees at the reseller who are listed have now left, making this a complete ball ache to resolve. But they are trying.. -

Our curriculum pack has SP1 integrated and we have the SP2 update allocated as a separate update. -

@Grey-gear definitely not the proxy server, have tried another key to test. @sted - It is an RM curriculum pack, I will check but I am pretty sure you cannot see the telephone activation choice? I could be wrong. -
Morning, Going back we purchased a 600 seat licence for MS Office 2010 pro plus (I cannot remember the correct terminology for the type of licence - It was purchased a month or so before MS launched the EES system) - The last few months it had been failing activation and we had been going to our reseller to get it activated. The brick wall we have it is that on this old portal, there is no one left working for the company registered to deal with our agreement. I have tried contacting MS and there is very little they can do for me (I asked them if the key had been blacklisted, they said no and they say there are 1,200 activations still to be used). The chap who has been looking at it for me from the reseller has tried as much as he can as well and is hitting his head against a brick wall - just wondering what is the best way to escalate this as we have a product in which we paid £21,000 which we cannot use at the moment? Any advice welcome Thanks!

We use Inventry, but there is the obvious cost behind it.....

Right ho, on the advice of people here a decision has been made - changing to a 6u cab, but 390mm deep. Will use a DLink DGS-1210-28P switch, cat6 patch panel, recessed cable management panel and a 6 way PDU with surge protection. Should have space for a 1u NAS box in the future if my current storage gets short. Thanks guys, much appreciated!

Thanks chaps, this will be going under the stairs in the dining room, but needs to share space with the gas and electric meters will see what space I have available and might push it to a full width cab as long as it wasn't too deep.

There's some sort of sad irony of "physical" no longer being required...

We have a fully vitrualized CC4 estate with two HP Proliant G8 hosts containing 192gb RAM in each box. A 16tb HP San takes care of everything storage wise with a 16tb RM disk box and LTO5 added for D2D2T. We have virtualized all servers including SIMS set to max 16gb RAM and we have had no issues with this set up. We have a current uptime of 99.6% availability in the last 3 years. Would have been 100% uptime but a faulty GBIC took down a portion of the site for a day and the day after a pupil caused a data storm accidentally which took an hour to locate (both events happened two weeks ago lol).

Will be looking at 16 devices throughout the house 3 games consoles, 3 or 4 IP cams, server, 2-3 WAPs, HTPCs, Smart TVs etc. Going to add some redundancy as I will have a wooden floor going over the cable and if I develop a cable fault at anytime I just want to be able to patch into the adjacent connection. *edit - I will need 24 CAT6 ports on 2x patch panels - I don't necessarily need a 24 port switch per say, but if I could get up it would be better than uplinking a couple of smaller switches?
-
I've emailed the company to ask if their dimensions are external or internal as there is no mention. Hopefully hear back from them soon.
-
That's close but the switch is 1 cm too wide for the cab 8u 10" Mini Office Cabinet - 265mm Deep

I posted a while back about getting my house renovated and rewired complete with a CAT6 network and it's now going to be about 4 weeks before work starts on the project. I would appreciate a bit of advice on purchasing a switch. I reckon I will need 24 ports with PoE capability, now here is the rub. The whole kaboodle is going into a SoHo comms unit - which is 8u in height, uses 10" patch panels and is only 350mm deep. A quick search tells me I may need to go for 2x12 ports due to the dimensions, but if anyone knows of a 24 port PoE with a small footprint could they let me know? Cheers in advance

Thanks for the feedback - I have currently created an Outlook Calendar called StaffCal and I imported from a .csv from a SIMS report- this contains every single event throughout the year and staff will hopefully by SLT drive be coached into using this instead of the SIMS calendar. Now my way of thinking is to create another calendar say ParentCal which would be the one which would be the calendar that will be displayed on the website, unless is there a way to filter out the staff entries so that only the pertinent info for parents is displayed, or would I have to go down the two separate calendars route and have the information updated on both (any idea of a 3rd party application that can apply an indentical update to two calendars?).
-
Morning, I'm not an MIS guru by a long chalk - I can install it via Solus3 but rarely open the application itself, but I have been asked by staff if there any way of exporting the SIMS calendar or linking the calendar so it can be viewed on our website externally by parents etc. At the moment there's umpteen different calendars being used in the school, we are looking to enforce the use of one only if possible? Thanks in advance!

Can You Keep Rhythm When The Beats Drop Out? Got Rhythm?
andyturpie replied to 6Foot2's topic in Other Stuff
750 for first go, little embarrassing as I mix vinyl on turntables - however not all my vinyl contain 4/4 beats...
