Always-On VPN - Connections keep terminating
MartinRouterKing replied to CHiLL's topic in Enterprise Software
I found users using IKEv2 had more issues than people using SSTP. In the end we allowed both so if users had IKEv2 issues we just swapped them to SSTP. You can actually automate this. -

Have you done an add route on the DA server and added the proxy server IP

We had this, we went to 4.3.24.11355 and it has been fine since. Not updated to the latest version.

It sounds like there is some sort of mail flow rule to forward all sent and received mail on to an email address. Check the mail flow / rules within the google admin to make sure there are no rules setup.

trapped in facebook business manager
MartinRouterKing replied to chazzy2501's topic in Cloud Services
I have this same issue. Only way I have found is using the Facebook business app on a phone which is not great for staff. I seen a way to make a normal profile admin and that should fix it but it means making a normal profile with the school name which will then probably get banned for not having a real name.- 3 replies

Scheduled task triggered by an event like lock that close ie and clears cache? You could use something like idle mon to do the disconnect or set up a key combination when they are finished they press it and it runs the task then disconnects. I take it you work in a hospital? I work in a acute Trust and have been having similar issues, users who aren’t on the ward are logged in just because the computers are slow. We have just launched VDI and it makes a massive difference. Fast log on, follow you desktop, also accessible from home. When the user finishes for the day the desktop is destroyed and a new one is created so they are always fast. Other option is have you looked into imprivata? Single sign on but offers a kiosk mode for fast login / log off. Really good piece of software.

Remote Desktop - Session Based
MartinRouterKing replied to kostascoffee's topic in Windows Server 2019
What version of windows server? I am thinking could you not install on another server and drag them off? I wouldn’t of thought these files are changed in anyway maybe just look in the same location on every server to pull the information. If not maybe somebody could zip theirs up and e-mail over. Can’t be 100% on this.- 10 replies

[2004, 20h1] New Microsoft Edge - Normal Vs Enterprise
MartinRouterKing replied to speckledegg's topic in Windows 10
I thought if you don’t use the enterprise version you didn’t get IE mode? Obviously this does not matter if you don’t have any legacy stuff that needs IE -
I have used this before. Works well! https://github.com/multiOTP/multiotp/wiki

Interview Questions for School Desktop Engineer role?
MartinRouterKing replied to Martstone's topic in General Chat
I went for a desktop support role 2018 still remember the questions haha! 1: if I give you a list of IP addresses across the whole site, how can I find out if they are online without leaving my desk? 2: if I give you a list of ip addresses, what things could you do to return the hostname. 3: you get called to an office because the printer is not working and showing as offline. What would you check 4: computers have just been upgraded from 32bit windows 7 to 64 bit windows 10. Before the upgrade the printer used to map fine. What could be the issue. 5: your manager has given you the task of deploying a new printer to an office of 20 machines. Please tell me the steps you would take to deploy the printer to all 20 machines, starting from plugging the printer in. 6: tell me what active directory is and what it’s used for 7: tell me what group policy is and what it’s used for. 8: tell me what dhcp and what it does 9: tell me what dns is and what is does 10: what is an exchange server. 11: what is an sql server 12: user can’t log on to computer, says the trust relationship has failed. What steps would you take to get the computer working. 13 user can’t login to the computer. Says no logon servers available. Tell me what steps you would take to resolve this issue. 14: user unable to login to the computer. Please tell me what steps you would take in order to work out what the problem is and how you could resolve the issue. 15: tell me a time you have gone above and beyond. 16: tell me a time you have had to think on your feet without getting advise 17: tell me a time you have had to work as part of a team. 18: tell me a time you have been in an uncomfortable position and what you done to resolve it. 19: tell me how you keep up to date with advancements in technology. 20: you are about to make a group policy change at the root of group policy. Tell me how you would go about doing this. Think that is all of them. These were for a desktop support role in the NHS. -
I have recently installed a Texecom Premier Elite (wired version) I like it. You can buy a texecom connect for it and it will link to your phone. The texecom connect can also link to smart plugs and CCTV systems. So if the PIR goes off in the kitchen it will display the camera closest to the kitchen. I like the system, very easy to install and program. It is a professional system and is used in businesses and banks. However they are a good price. They also sell a wireless version but the PIRs are more expensive. You can also link your smoke alarms to the system.
