In server 2012 I could just use Task Manager, select the disconnected users and log them off. In 2019 however, I can only select one user at a time. Can anyone suggest a way to bump groups of users off the Remote desktop connection? ( aside from making a powershell script)

Hi All, I have 2 domain setup (Curriculum and Admin) and am just wondering if this is correct? If I go to 'DNS\Conditional Forwarders\Srv name\Properties\click 'Edit' on the server I can see the Ip address and Server FQDN but get a cross next to the ip address. The server with this IP address is not authoritative for the required zone. Is something wrong between 2 servers? Thanks Shoaib

Hello, I am setting up a DELL R720 as a hypervisor host using Hyper-V (at least I want to) I installed Windows Server 2019 Datacentre using an ISO downloaded from VLSC, (so I assume it is the latest build). The R720 has been updated to have all the latest firmware, BIOS etc. When I initially installed Windows Server 2019, it went through without an issue. It was only after I installed Hyper-V feature onto the server that it has refused to boot. I installed Windows Server on a RAID0 config I have in the system. The RAID configs are the following: The H710P Adapter controls eight SAS drives in RAID5 mode while the H710P Mini handles two SAS drives in RAID0 mode (this is the RAID controller I want to boot from, and it is this array that Windows is installed on.) The symptoms: The system initializes the processors, all of the memory, detects all the drives and initializes the firmware interfaces. The moment that it gets to the blue Windows logo with the spinning circle it immediately reboots the server and starts initializing everything again. After numerous reboots it does eventually boot into recovery mode, but can go nowhere further from here. I have gone into the RAID configuration menu from the BIOS and set the boot device as the RAID controller I want, both controllers are handled by the BIOS. I have initialized both of the RAID arrays in the RAID configuration menu and before I restarted it for the last time I had created a partition for the RAID5 array before everything stopped working. The server had rebooted a number of times before I had installed the Hyper-V role onto it. Another thing to point is that I configured the HyperV role to store any VMs on the RAID5 drives. Could this have anything to do with it crashing on boot? Windows Server was installed via a UEFI USB burned using Rufus. I did not go though iDRAC or the lifecycle controller to install it. Can anyone point out a possible fix, or a list of best practices for installing Windows Server on a RAID0 array on an R720 if I have to reinstall it? Thanks in advance!

Hi All, I am having an issuewith Windows Backup when the Host (Windows Server 2019) tries to back up theVirtual Server (WSrv2019) which fails every other day. It is so frustratingthat even after I run 'vssadmin list writers' command in powershell and thenReset VSS writers but it keeps going back to error state after couple of days. Hi, I wonder if someone could help. I haven't been able to find any information on setting up the firewall for RDS (How to set up and anything else needed for it). We are a school, and we would like staff to login from home and access the apps that we have made available for them. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

HI All, I am wondering if someone can point me to the right direction. I have 2 domain controllers in our network. On one DC I can run nslookup for both servers with ip address and host name fine but with the other server if I do nslookup with a server ip address I get the below error message but works fine with hostname. Can't find the ip address xxxx. Non existent domain. Thanks Shoaib

Hi All, 1- We are with Rmbroadband and am using the 'Rm Dns Ip addresses' (194.238.50.0 & 194.238.50.3) in our Dnsmanager which validate OK but under server FQDN it says 'Unable to resolve'. 2- In the same place under 'Root Hints' all the ip address get an error message while'validating' A timeout occurred during validation. I am using Windows Server 2019 Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks Shoaib

Next month, I plan to take the Microsoft AZ-800 (Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure) exam. Microsoft AZ-800 exam focuses on Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2022. Since this exam is about hybrid environments, it also includes Azure services that integrate with Windows Server. I have been looking into different study resources, including Pass4Future AZ-800 exam practice questions, official Microsoft resources, and forum discussions. but I want to make sure I am fully prepared with the best materials. Has anyone here taken the Microsoft AZ-800 exam? If so: What study materials did you use? How difficult was the exam compared to other Microsoft certifications? Any tips or resources you’d recommend? Appreciate any advice you can share!

Hi All, I am in an interesting situation where I am trying to expand my Ip range with Rm Networks. We currently have an ip range set to: 10.141.80.0-10.141.81.254/23 (255.255.254.0) The ip range has been increased to 10.141.83.254/22 (255.255.252.0) Rm Networks says the router is set up with /22 subnet but my dhcp server is set up with /23 (255.255.254.0)subnet I have created another scope with the below: 10.141.82.1-10.141.83.254 /23 but it is not working. we are using a Windows Server 2019. I reserved one of the ip address to use the newly created scope ip address but it was connected to wi-Fi but was not connecting to any of the websites or apps. I would like to use the scope settings if possible 10.141.82.1-10.141.83.254 /23. It should be possible if the dhcp server is working fine with 10.141.80.1-10.141.81.254 /23? Any help or advice is much appreciated as I don't want to lose any reserved ip setting while changing any of the settings. Thanks in advance.

So, I accidentally deleted the WWWROOT folder from the inetpub folder on C drive on my RDS server. Does anyone know of a simple way of getting this back, as the webpages from the server are now unavailable as they dont exist! I cant find it in Recycle bin or in any recovery scanner such as RECUVA. Is there any way to fix this? Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Hello, Does anyone know of a script or easy way to update all users account pictures from the default to our school logo? Most of our machines are Windows 11 and have a handful of machines on Windows 10. I have searched up on it but the only way I have found is to do it manually? Thank you

Hi We are having major issues with users unable to remote into their computers from outside of the school.I contacted our network provider who has pointed out that the school’s domain name is a real domain which ends with sch.uk. This is the reason users dropping out of sessions when they remote in. They said an internal domain should end with .local or something like that. Now, how easy is to rename the domain? The school is very small only about 12 computers and users. The server runs on Windows Server 2019 and it is the main server. Runs GPO, DC, AD, DHCP and file server. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I have an annoying issue with GP where I am setting the desktop wallpaper in GP (User Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>Desktop>Desktop>Desktop Wallpaper) this is set to a shared UNC path (\\server\netlogon\wallpaper\wallpaper.jpg). So If I create a user "test" this new user will get my new Desktop wallpaper. which is fine. The problem comes if I change this wallpaper to a different image, but maintaining the file name and replacing the image in the shared store. My user "test" wont have updated to the new wallpaper, however if I make another new user "test1" this new user will have the updated wallpaper. To me this is some kind of "caching" issue? where the wallpaper is being cached somehow? its puzzling the heck out of me. I work in a school environment so to have a desktop that can change with local events or seasons would be a nice touch. Server 2019desktops are all Windows 10 Many Thanks Delleropk
