Personally I would keep it on a physical box. I also setup mine so they have an ISCSi connection to the SAN so that Veeam can talk directly to the SAN to get data rather than having to talk to the virtual host.

On the datastore that is the replication target do you have loads of folders which are servername.1 servername.2 etc? But as said above Veeam support tend to be very good in getting things sorted.

You could be surprised - third party warranty's (especially on dell kit) are pretty good. Also they start the 4 hour clock when you call then not when they acknowledge a fault.

Hmm it should be possible - i would have to have a think about the migration but they have revolutionised the storage market at this level.

I've just started working with IBM and recently installed a V7000 SAN and a client down the road from you. But I would recommend the Nimble Boxes - they have redefined how storage works and really are the market leader when it comes to this kind of device. With regards to the SAN to SAN replication I doubt cross vendor will work. Do you use VMware for the HyperVisor.

If you type nslookup set q=mx domainname.com What is returned? Also do domainname.com 8.8.8.8 It could be the ISP has not put the trailing . on the record which means it will try and tag your domain to the end. i.e domain.microsoft.online.mx.record.yourdomain.com etc

The School i worked for had 22 patch cuboards with all but 3 too far away for Copper. But to keep things easy everything was Fibre.

By the looks of it those support up to around 2000 IOPS (roughly). By the sounds of that I would be looking at Anti-Virus on the server which they are saving too.

It all depends on what priorities the school has on its finances. My previous school my budget fluctuated from £90,000 through to one year spending over £300,000 (this had a new build 100k in it). We had 950 machines (19 IT Suites), with every classroom having IWB's. Radio Station, Music Suite. when I started my budget was 90k which had been dropped for 140k with loosing specialist school funding. If they school really wanted too they could have cut the budget and we could have coped but I put in a very big transformation of the IT systems when I worked there. Nothing apart from fibre runs, mice and keyboards where original from the day I started to the day i left. We replaced everything as they previous team had essentially wasted a lot of money on a system that didn't function.

What scale is that on? 77 iops is nothing... I've got a client of 60 users who have 1000 IOPS. what is high IOPs really depends on what the hardware underneath will perform too. What do you have running on the sans?

But what they are trying to say is that they couldn't do that as there isn't enough of those roles available for the extra staff that would be kept on from 55-60. @Steve21 - I agree with you - but they arn't arguing over pay on this strike. You should be able to modify the Work Hours in Outlook - Change your work hours and days in Outlook - Communicator - Office.com Whether you can do this on bulk I am not sure (maybe via registry although it would be HKCU I guess). But that will just choose the Working hours to be displayed not chop it up into the sections of the school day.
