I have a client who is using the Juniper SAG to remotely connect into a VDI Pool (the juniper uses RDP to connect). When you login to the Juniper it communicates with the View Admin console using the credentials you login with (i.e domain\user with password). When you try and launch into the machine all that gets passed through is the Username and password and Windows is trying to login with the local machine name. I have tried setting the reg keys for defaultlogindomain and altlogindomain but I have a feeling for RDP/TS that is uses a different regkey to determine the domain but I cannot for the life of me find it. Anybody any ideas? I have actually fixed this before but for the life of me cannot remember how to do it!!

TBH it is going down the need to use the FQDN for everything, the idea being that access can be seemless whether internal or external (not having to remember different addresses for things like OWA etc). The main big thing that I have had to start getting my clients to do is configure Exchange to use an external FQDN i.e mail.fulldomain.com rather than server.domain.local. This also actually helps when starting to bring in things like load balances are systems expand/higher availability is require.

I looked at them for sims intergration when i was looking at the parental reporting tick box. In the end I went with ziLink from Schools ICT aka @penfold_99 Was a very neat solution and worked pretty well.

The problem you will find with Apple Kit - is a reseller only gets a 3% margin from what you can buy it direct from apple for - therefore you won't see them much cheaper anywhere (all done for a reason by Apple)

Completely delete the outlook profile and setup with Office 365 You could potentially add them as entires into the host file on the local machine.

I havn't used one with VMware - but OPEN-E is a very good software SAN solution I have used. There are a few companies who specialise in Hardware for it also. I've done the presales course on that too if you want any questions answered!

If you are wanting to completely remove the original domain completely I would create 2 forests and then setup a trust between the two forests. The folder rights wouldn't update automatically (I don't think). But if you saved this batch into each share it will set permissions based on the foldername (so as long as the folder name is the username you sorted). Obviously change the groups in speech marks to who you would like to allow permission. In this Example Manage Student Data has full control and Teaching Staff are read only.

IMHO with Sims I have always run on the theory M$ base OS recommendations 4GB + Size of the Database 2 x i.e if you DB is 2gb assign the server 8gb.

What do you have the settings for that? This is what Nimble Recommend to try and show off performance on a unit. (depending on your Firmware you should get probably 24/25k iops of the CS240). EDIT: My bad the performance boost the on the newer firmware is only on the CS4xx series the CS240 will do max around 20k iops on the newer stuff!

With Nimble you really do pay for the software rather than the hardware IMHO (and I love the things). The Major part nobody seems to also mention is the fact that every 5 mins the SANs report into Nimble - so typically if you have a hardware issue Nimble know about it before you do! Plus Infosight is very powerful.

Which Model do you have? This is a screen print of the load on one of my clients CS420 X2, this SAN runs 35 VMs of which 6 are Citrix XenApp servers (50 users each), 3 are Exchange boxes and 4 are SQL servers, a couple of Sun DB servers in there too.

If you setup a split DHCP scope yes you could have 2 servers handing out 2 different default gateways - one to each server.

Similar ish I would say. It all depends on the usage as it is cache driven (you will need to lookup the CASL architecture to understand as the have rewritten the laws of it all). With Nimble you get the performance of SSD running from Sata/Nearline SAS @dan400007 - all through resellers

Nimble Nimble Nimble Nimble @NimbleStorage I personal experience HP P2000 are usless (they are just Dot Hill with an HP badge). Dell Equallogic are ok but expensive to expand (you have to buy a new SAN not just storage shelf), Powervault - well similar to the P2000 is pretty usless! With the Nimble unit you get built in compression (my clients currently have 35%, 32% compression on units) plus its super cool and quick With the P2000 above that would be 7.2k SAS so would probably be pretty slow

I've just started working with IPCortex which is asterisk based and seems pretty good. pretty much License free so you just have to buy the box and phones. I can PM you some details of the companies who i know have installed them and done good jobs on it if required (I am not connected with IPcortex and am not a reseller of it, I have just done the networking and integration piece of these kits.)

Zen recommend the technicolour routers themselves. Zen's customer support is one of the best out there for an ISP. You always speak to somebody who knows what they are doing first time round. I have standard broadband package at home and cannot fault (I use a Netgear router). a lot of my clients are with zen and they all use netgear dg834 but non are on FTTC yet.

Until they only want to use them for using flash based websites - but then thats the same for most tablets these days (bar M$ ones)
