open up an admin command prompt and type in"C:\Program Files\Update Services\Tools\wsusutil.exe" postinstall /servicing wait then load server manager and go to add roles/features, go to the features page and tab out .net framework 4.5 features then tab out wcf services and tick http activationrestart the wsus servicehopefully that should fix ita temporary fix if that dosent work is to run iisreset from an admin command prompt it will get it working again but will probably fail again after some time

i would seriously get windows to record the recovery key in active directory it can save so much hassle and is only a few extra settings and 2 mins work on a dc (or other server with ad tools)

not sure what their update policy is or how vanilla they are but that looks like the least worst option

i wish they would bring back the nexus line something that dosent cost some silly amount that to me no phone is worth i just want a vanilla android phone with no samsung etc crudware that might get updates past the first month

id go with a pin/password personally as staff ill only leave the pendrive in the same bag as the laptop making it pointless to encrypt it. You dont put passwords on the usb stick bitlocker basically copies a certificate there iirc and without that windows wont boot (short of the 40 digit recovery key). The pen drive it self isnt encrypted i dont think. You can force both pin and password but i suspect that will just generate helpdesk calls

you can use bitlocker without a tpm you just need to alter the gpo settings to allow it iirc this setting (there may be more in the same location its a bit of a trial and error job to get it working 1st time)) computer config\admin templates\windows components\bitlocker drive encryption\operating system drives\require additional authentication at startup tick the box allow bitlocker without a compatible tpm and in teh dropdowns select allow . . . theres a few other bitlocker setting id want as well mainly one level up store bitlocker recovery info in ad the rest is again a bit of personal preference / trial and error

my biggest problem with edge (and other "modern apps") is that if your printer/copier has codes on them and people print from edge you are probably going to be in a world of hurt. It cant/dosent display prompts for codes sends the print job and quite often borks the entire print queue to the point you have to set the printer to work offline restart the spooler service and delete all offending print jobs

cleaned the bars/screen myself repeatedly. to my knowledge no odd lights. From the description im 100% sure its the screen as you can see circles appear where it thinks your fingers are it dosent do that when you use the mouse so the screens responding to some sort of input (maybe the class is haunted it is a victorian building lol) tbh with my experience with these boards (and its not just that school its at least 2 others i know of as well) i seriously wonder if just buying a big tv and having a touchscreen pc isnt actually a better solution as that way when the teachers using the screen they dont have to have their back to the class the desk pc can be placed so they can still see the kids or even use a surface like device and miracast then they can wander and still use the board

Ive also found running them off powered usb hubs can help but the one thats getting the most complaints atm has a decent ~2 m usb lead plugged straight in and its still poor and apparently (ive never been able to confirm this) has a mind of ts own where it thinks theres contact near the top right so keeps minimising things when nobody is anywhere near the board (you can also see on screen where it thinks its been touched) Video drop its been tried with the normal class pc (intel 400 iirc),random spare laptop again intel,my laptop intel and nvidia 1070, colleagues laptop (probably intel) even tried both windows 8.1 and 10 just for completeness. Its a stupid fault most visible on youtube and random its definitely more an issue on hdmi than vga but it still does it on vga (again brand new cables direct to board in every port the damn thing has)

as far as i can see on the 4000 series there is no way to update the firmware or calibrate it smart said go to diag tools last time i tried to warranty one and there were no options there to do so. ive got another 4 (at least and 2 im unsure if its cabling related as they are really fussy about cables/lengths)that are currently going to have to be looked at under warranty always the same issues you try and draw a grid and theres huge gaps where you diddnt take the pen/finder off the board. Whatever sensor tech they use seems to be prone to failure. If it wasnt for the software nobody in their right mind would buy these they just seem so badly made/designed the old 500/600 series boards with projectors give me so much less grief and they are all ancient at this point ive got one class thats on its 3rd same fault just gets worse over time and ive swapped every other bit of kit/cable/run cables direct to board in the room and it still does the same the screen flicks on and off when video is played the laptop/pc screen that its mirroring is fine audio continues but the screen goes blank for a second or 2

id also check what your default sound device is if it shows 2 in device manager its plausible it has 2 in playback devices and is defaulting to the wrong one (you can also right click test devices and it will pay regardless of whether its the default device or not)

at one of the schools i support they access the internet via a smoothwall (which i have no access to and have to email/ring to get changes made on it). Ive got the isp to give me a range of ips that have a transparent proxy applied and dont have ssl inspection turned on (so no certificate needed on the devices). Is it possible to create an ssid on ruckus that will dish out just a specific set of ip addresses if so how) i assume worst case i could vlan it off and set up a dhcp server for that vlan but that seems overly complicated as vlans arnt something ive ever really needed to deal with

with 900 devices id be looking at sccm rather than just mdt it will probably make it easier long term

my main issue with ruckus is licensing if you want to add more aps. Ive got schools with both (granted primary) and tbh neither give me much grief both need the odd ap rebooting now and again, ruckus needs a pc to install to and a bit of faffing with java/cmd to make it run as a service personally id just run up a client vm for it if i was starting from scratch rather than shove it on the server as i could then just move the vm indefinitely without really affecting owt else, ive had more ruckus aps fail but by the same token ive got more of them

i seriously wonder if pubg is more fun to watch than play as i can imagine its incredibly frustrating spending 20 mins+ alone stockpiling stuff then the first time you see anyone you get killed by someone with an 8x scope

aha ha ha ha ha ive got a few clevertouches in schools and they are all on android 4.x which is already 4 gens obsolete and these are 2 year old at most boards i believe

i wish nintendo would let me retire my 3ds but they keep releasing stuff i want on it that id much rather play on my switch so its a handheld or not depending on need i like being able to play handheld if tvs doing something else then dock and continue on a bigger screen with a better controller when there nothing on tv its so handy
