Paxton Net2 - "this token has already been issued"
3s-gtech replied to 3s-gtech's topic in Physical Security
They’re Mifare 1k. Not upgraded. Possible duplicates (though unlikely) but this is all of the leavers, every token. They’ll still be in the DB. That’s fine - I could strip them out - but not without DB access it seems! -
Paxton Net2 - "this token has already been issued"
3s-gtech replied to 3s-gtech's topic in Physical Security
Yes, I can do so if they're manually removed. Something in the API is obviously following a different route, but I don't want to get stuck in support tennis between Paxton and Salamander. -
Authenticating Office 2024 LTSC Pro Plus - No KMS?
3s-gtech replied to Miscbrah's topic in Office Software
I have a KMS key for 2024 Pro Plus. MS lied to you (or more accurately, that representative had no idea). I've used my reseller to sort this stuff before now. -
Paxton Net2 - "this token has already been issued"
3s-gtech replied to 3s-gtech's topic in Physical Security
I've found that Net2 has a 'Deleted Users' table/store. Those users are in there, almost certainly with their tokens, as I can see them when I run a report and tick that box. The logic in having that table without a way to purge it easily from the UI (or even the Configuration Utility) surprises me not a bit. I've emailed their support. This is their headache. -
I've seen this issue before, but it's become a bigger problem now. We have Paxton Net2 integrated with Salamander to make and delete users as they come and go. However, it seems that when they're deleted, it holds on to the issued tokens for those users and we can't re-use them as a result. Getting directly into the SQL Database doesn't seem to be happening at present, and the *cough* awful software doesn't have a clean up routine/recycle bin or similar to actually tidy the records. Any ideas?

Authenticating Office 2024 LTSC Pro Plus - No KMS?

Are you saying that KMS isn't an option, as you don't have a local AD? You can just use MAK in that case. -

AB Tutor - changes to perpetual licence - notice
3s-gtech replied to 3s-gtech's topic in Network and Classroom Management
We paid. I see it as we had great value from the software since we bought v8 licenses, and it's easy to justify the ongoing cost now. We will review the need every year. -

The documentation says that mapped folders are still supported. Have you tried tweaking the XML configuration in case something has been updated? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/application-security/application-isolation/windows-sandbox/windows-sandbox-configure-using-wsb-file -
It all went downhill with the drivers/software behind a paywall nonsense. They did make some very good machines though, back in the day. Our most recent server to die is also the newest.

Hmmm. It seems that the Apple USB-C to 3.5mm adapter does in fact support microphone input, so if you plug in a feed via a three way 3.5mm cable you should be able to run from the microphone mixer into the iPad. No bluetooth or complication. You may need to split to run a power feed to the iPad too though.

Help with Exchange Mail Rule that is not working :(
3s-gtech replied to kennysarmy's topic in Cloud Services
I wouldn't use pattern to do the match to address. I'd use 'address includes any of these words'. I'd then try that with the full email address. -
Yes, from 2016. Not sure on the team type - I just set it up in the Server Manager UI.

Your hearing is only good once, protect it. Many of us have paid a price for loud music over the years. Last time I went to a club for a six hour dance music gig I wore ear protectors!

How much RAM is SQL Server using? What type of disks are in the host? Have you tried offering it part of your soul? SIMS likes souls.
-
How big is your SIMS DB, and have you set SQL Server RAM limits. It always used to be that you wanted the whole DB to fit in RAM, and force it to do so, otherwise it'd slow down appreciably.

That sounds like the hallmarks of beta hardware needing a ton of firmware updates. Problem of cutting-edge (or at least the sharper bit) stuff! Can you feed this back to the OEM? You’re an unpaid tester now, after all!

Manual install of OCLP on each. Install the UEFI bootloader. Reboot from the UEFI option. Install the unsupported MacOS version you'd like to run. Once finished, OCLP will pop up - you'll need to install the legacy patches if applicable. You need to patch every time there's an OS update. I've not had any luck with installing an unsupported version directly from USB as a clean install - every one has needed an upgrade from an existing supported OS otherwise the process just hangs. On the plus side, I have 34 unsupported Mac Minis that would be landfill, that are doing a sterling job and running well on MacOS 15. If they die, I can get replacements for buttons. Hoping to get two more years out of them.

You could use https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/ though you have to go in with your eyes open and appreciate that it can be a bit of work. Many aren't happy to run it in production (I do).

Yup. Tried everything at my disposal. I saw this at its worst on OS X 10.13, but I've heard it has hit other versions too. Literally not a single tool I used could tell me where hundreds of GB had gone. I wiped and upgraded the OS on all of our Macs instead.

No change here. Last I heard, there was no central push. If your council is pushing it and claiming anything is coming from WG, push back. It might be the right call for some schools, and could save money. It’d push some IT departments out though (me included).

During an exam?! It'll probably crash, lock up, then need multiple phone calls and a hysterical exams officer yelling at you because the clients are all locked out and need resetting via the console by the exam board *Vietnam PTSD montage* Best tested with one of those scheduled dummy exams

Try stopping the service, first and foremost. With ABTC I just had to not be viewing the screen.
