  1. In Entra? They're logging in successfully. CA is off/bypassed within this IP range.
  2. Wonder if anyone else has seen this? We've been successully using Microsoft accounts to SSO onto our Chromebooks. Works fine - enter username and password, on you go. Until this week. It just started looping back to the login screen. Checked the services portal - fault with some applications, so waited for that to be fixed. No change. Now started into the black hole of changing how SSO works on them. I have setup and approved OIDC (Open ID Connector) instead of the old application setup, which should be good, but now we just get 'cannot verify that this account is yours'. Kind of makes sense - we're trying to get into the same accounts with a different credential provider now. Thankfully my admin accounts were not included in the SSO scope, so I can get into Google Workspace. No one else can. Any ideas?
  3. I was reminded when I did mine in summer - if you team the NICs in Windows on the host, delete the team first, then upgrade, then recreate. If you don't, the team doesn't seem to work and none of your VMs will get an IP address (and may not even start).
  4. We used to have it so that student logons simply didn't work on those PCs. When we went to staff laptops this became moot, but the few desktops that remain are staff only through Group Policy.
  5. All supported machines here done (plus a small handful that are not, but have 11 on anyway). Otherwise running ESU.

Caddy may not be giving it enough power. Opening it up was exceptionally brave, but may have condemned it! Can you plug it in internally and try?
  7. UK market forces are showing that the majority of buyers want auto gearboxes now, where we used to be firmly against. The difference being that modern autos, DCTs etc are so much better than earlier slushboxes. It's entirely personal. What do you want to drive? Either is fine. Pros of auto - easy to use, easy to drive, much easier in traffic, often faster than the manual, better availability, integration with other systems like self driving if that's your thing, cleaner user interface Cons - often less engaging and 'fun' to drive, complex (especially when electronic systems are heavily involved), expensive to repair, sometimes 'dim witted', depending on the model can be harder to sell I've owned cars with two gearboxes! Problem is, that factoid is equally irrelevant to the thread. Your electric cars do have a gearbox, but they're single speed.
  8. Device management licenses are about £30, and without those they're a bit of a brick in a school
  9. The machines that I have which need ESU are mostly ancient, so it has worked out well financially to spend £1 each on them to prolong that life further. Not worth the effort of changing them all to LTSC and the compromises that brings. Hopefully next year we’ll have far fewer to put through ESU.
  10. Yup, pull it out and look for debris and discolouration. It's a service part. https://www.autoinstruct.com.au/manufacturer/volkswagen/mk7-golf/changing-cabin-pollen-filter-mk7/ You can bleed the heater by taking the cap off the coolant reservoir, turning heat on to full, then starting the car and letting it get up to temperature. If there's an airlock, the coolant level should drop. Be careful doing this - coolant gives a nasty scald if you mess up (which I know well!)
  11. Nope, they absolutely can and it works really well. You need to link your Microsoft and Google tenancies, and you can do it in such a way that they just use their 365 login. Settings then done via the Google Workspace console.
  12. When you say struggling to warm up, do you mean the heater, or the engine (indicated by the termperature gauge)? If it's the engine not getting up to temp, it'll usually be the thermostat which do wear out on VWs. If it's the heater, there may be an airlock in the pipework to the heater matrix. I would be surprised if the matrix is clogged. That comes with a real lack of maintenance and very poor coolant over many years. Is the cabin filter clear?
  13. I don’t know your network, but your Root Path does not look right to me, at all. You’re missing a backslash between homedrive and homeshare variables, but do you need both anyway? Don’t use the Move contents of Documents tick box.
  14. Does it do it on newer versions of Office? I ask because Office 2016 goes EoL on the 14th of this month too, and no extended support for that.
  15. Any chance it's the antivirus interfering? Is this on a fresh build? Does it do it in Windows 11?
  16. Yes, we did this in 2021. Lenovo USB-C Hybrid docks in all classrooms. The cables are consumable items, so it pays to always have some in stock and they must be up to spec. We use OEM ones. Aside from Windows+P, it works well.
  17. We use Mifare Classic 1k cards which are about 50p each, and wristbands which are closer to £1.50. It's alright. Locally hosted. The controllers bug out sometimes and need a restart, the main software has bugs which cause it to crash, and some settings (like IPv4 on the intercom units, and DHCP on the controllers) will cause chaos. I like the Salamander integration (our new users just appear!)
  18. This may help, as it was done at a government level in Wales so sets a fairly strong precedent: https://hwb.gov.wales/news/articles/76979aea-3819-42e9-9c10-121e907ef922
  19. Much more involved than I’d like, as those that wanted to be able to put posts on there became too busy to do so. I think people see our social media presence as underwhelming as a result, but I just put stuff on there that I’m given - I do not try creating reels, nor waste time with engagement stuff.
  20. Trade plates or trailer it. Not commonly an option though! Or you wing it and hope you don't get caught (commonly done, very bad idea!)
  21. They basically go onto the website and fill in the same form now!
  22. I get through a lot of cars, and regularly SORN/re-tax them. It just works online, using the green slip or V5C. Recently taxed one at the Post Office because I had to change the taxation class.
  23. Simialr to above - it's split. I handle the software side of both, and will raise a job with Premises if something has broken hardware wise as we'd then get in the suppliers/sparks.
  24. I struggled with this. In the end, on each Mac when it was built, I copied the background to the Shared folder, changed the permissions on the file so Everyone could view, then set the path in Jamf to that. Bit of a pain, especially if you have loads of machines, but works fine.
  25. I saw this on some links when moving to 10G - the fibre itself was the issue (usually the patch leads, but not always). Can you try connecting to another switch that's sitting next to it, with a short patch lead? My 5406 is still running 1Gb links for CCTV only so never got to testing 10G modules.
