Are their user areas mapped to a drive? You could create the hyperlink to X:\My Documents - or whatever your path may be?

If you can do it with the fewest bars possible it will be even better as far as signal is concerned. Borrow a ball or something from the department and test it out, what's the "minimum amount' of cage you can get away with whilst still protecting the AP. It will need to be fairly strong though, I know that it's exactly the sort of thing that students will be deliberately aiming for!

That must be some policy of theirs not to take any rubbish away. They left our old LNB and a load of cable just slung in our back garden where they had been thrown from the top of the ladder. You may have guessed I don't have a lot of good to say about Sky at the moment!

Have seen it done in Gym's before with a metal cage over the AP. I know this is a big no-no as far as interference but depending on how much the AP is going to be used then if it works, go for it! If it's just going to be a teacher laptop connecting to conduct an electronic register then a metal cage shouldn't cause a problem. Tom

I think you need to map a drive for this to work. Does Virtual PC work in the same way as other virtualisation products i.e. do you have a machine file and a separate virtual hard disk file?

It's a joke I know. We were paying nearly £50 a month for sky and had been doing for the last year. (Don't ask, we don't even watch that much but the other half likes to have everything available). I enquired about upgrading to HD, which would add another £10 a month to the bill and was told we would still have to pay the installation charge - which as you mention, would just involve unplugging to old box and plugging the new one in. I ended up going for it as I couldn't find a HD box anywhere at the time. The engineer was there for about 2 minutes. If you're a new customer however, who has never paid sky a penny - installation is free!

As a first step, try taking control of the folder and then assigning the correct positions to it. See if that makes a difference to Docs saving in the correct location or not. Tom

Has anybody ever used Teleport from Abyssoft? Teleport What a fantastic application, I have just discovered it today. On my desk I have my MacBook Pro with an external monitor and my iMac, so three screens in total. Teleport allows me to control all of these with one keyboard and mouse. Once the application is set up, you simply "arrange" the Mac's (a lot like when using multiple displays), and then when the mouse is moved off the edge of the screen, it automatically begins to control the next computer. Brilliant! Works via the network and best of all, is completely free (donationware). One of the best little tools I have discovered for the Mac in a long time. Anybody using more than one Mac at their desk should give it a go. Tom EDIT: I have just had a further play and discovered it will also sync clipboards and allow drag and drop between machines.

If you could find a way of providing your own DRM type protection to tracks then I think that would qualify you for the LOEL licence. DRM protection gives the ability to protect a track in such a way so that it can only be played until a certain date, or a certain number of times etc. Unsure of how you would go about applying your own DRM though. I'll have a look into it.
