Interestingly cheap. May consider this closer the time as we've got 3 whole IT suites to do still, and some staff laptops. Spent up on budget too

Would you be so kind to share the changes you made? I haven't tried a windows 11 deployment/upgrade through MDT yet, but its on my list. might have a play around today if I get chance. A while back I did try move to the latest ADK/WinPE versions, however they broke VBScript so I reverted back. I heavily rely on the task sequence to install apps/drivers etc.. I'm on - ADK version 10.1.25398.1 ADK WinPE version 10.1.19041.1

I had a call from our EO earlier today " Is there a problem with the network??" ummm not that i'm aware of why whats up? " Bromcom being very slow again " ... wooohoo! Checked internal network, did some tests.. all fine.. did a speedtest.. fine.. did the usual, can you clear cache in edge, restart the browser.. nope still the same. I ran a fairly simple report on 4 classes, and that took a few minutes to preview.. See what it's like tomorrow!

We're not a 1:1 school & I can truly understand that this takes a big toll on your small team. Lots of devices to support. I would stress that during exam time, your primary focus is to support exams & other things (unless absolutely urgent) can take a back seat. This is a very rough explanation of how it works at my school, albeit very different to yours in size & not 1:1 I am the only IT staff member for a small-ish secondary of around 540 students. I have a good relationship with the EO. I find it helps to have in advance details of which students require IT for exams, which room they are in, and what their requirements are.. (WordProcessing, Reader etc..). I request for all of this to either be emailed to me, or printed and handed to me in advance of the exams. Heres what I do during exam periods I set up all of the exam rooms in advance, Invigilators get given a special "Invigilator" user account, with barebones network access to show the time + exam details on the IWB. If MP3 files (spanish listening exam for example) or anything specific is required, this is sorted beforehand & placed on the desktop of the relevant PC. Students are each allocated their own "Exam" account, which is heavily restricted & has no internet access. Depending on the needs o the student, they may get access to Word Processing, a Reader, or both. Students do not get given the password, only myself and the EO have this. I log the students in prior to the exam starting using my remote software. I log them out once finished I am "available" at the beginning of each exam, and at the end for any issues with getting started, or printing work off. Also available via walkie-talkie during exams. I would stress that making changes to configs etc within a short term from the exam is a bad idea.

Weird one - a few of our Yealink phones which are set up like this are showing the wrong time. An hour too fast (as in the daylight savings time has already kicked in?) Date is correct on the phones affected. Only way I can resolve is by disabling Daylight Saving Time, not ideal though as I'll need to re-enable on the affected phones come next week. Anyone got any ideas as to why this would be happening? Time zone/Language on 3CX Management page is set to UK (London). All of our phones are set up this way

I prefer the standard RJ45's too. Pass throughs can be nice and easy as long as you have a good crimping tool to cut the ends off with. But like you say, once you've done a load of the normal ones, it becomes a breeze. I have never had an issue with any pass throughs i've done, but they've never been in places which could get wet/moist etc..

I'd only use a coupler as a quick fix, much better to do a proper termination. As above its extra points of failure, possible signal degradation / interference

Thats exactly it. The only reason I dont use Linux on my gaming rig is because there is no support for EasyAntiCheat (kernel level EAC), so I wouldn't be able to play online on a few games which use this.

Yea proton is the way forward, works for majority of games to be honest!

Windows for work/gaming, linux for anything else! (unless using bespoke windows apps/software that dont run on wine etc..)

I find these very useful, wouldn't class as educational software though mRemoteNG - RDP Client. I use this everyday. Crystaldiskinfo - SMART info from drives, disk health etc..

Are your devices Azure AD Hybrid? I have a computer GPO set to silently sign into OneDrive, seems to work well "Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/OneDrive/Silently sign in users to the OneDrive sync app with their Windows credentials" I'm not sure if this also signs them into Teams/Office.. ours just seems to work. Same with Edge sign in, I have a GPO set to sign them into edge also.
