All the kids come to school clutching their little blue vouchers and deposit them in the envelope for some poor soul (me) to count. My question is, considering that I will not actually be buying any computers, can anyone suggest something worthwhile for me to get with these vouchers? Also, can anyone tell me the purpose of the camera that sticks to the side of the child's head....does anyone actually use one? I've seen it in the Tesco catalogue, but just can't think of its purpose.

Now just need to save up enough vouchers for a brain control chip and my problems are solved...

I can do something much more productive with my time However, I do collect and pass on the Sainsbury sport equipment vouchers - at least 22 kids can use one football!

And with regards to that news article, I don't think that would really apply here. Being out in the middle of nowhere the only big supermarket is a Tesco. I would hazard a guess that 90% of the families in the area shop there so getting vouchers to help the school is an added bonus, not an incentive to shop there.

Tescos is the major employer in the our area - so we often receive some 'black market' vouchers (they can't trace me can they?). As result I'm not sure I want to stop using their promotion. We have bought Tesco computers in the past, but have found them notoriously unreliable. Instead, I guess the purpose of this post was to find out what the 'in' thing to get was at the moment.

I think i have 26 stuck to my door atm Well, you just need about another 27,000 then. Although, I wasn't too impressed with the computer. It's not as robust as they claim, and you can get a much better specced machine for the price they offer.
localzuk Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 It is well designed for an education market though except the cd drive. The cables are nice and locked away and the entire thing bolts to the desk. They should replace the tray dvd drives with slot loading though, less to break.

Sylv3r Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Generally the Librarian here collects the vouchers - in the past we have generally either got for floppy disks or headphones. The majority of the vouchers here seem to go to the younger children of the family i.e. brothers or sisters in a primary school. It would make more sense to me if all the primary schools in the area pooled all their vouchers together to kit out 1 or 2 schools at a time, that way all schools will get their turn and they will get something substantial out of it. They can have my vouchers as well as they are generally just spent for spending sake.

We've handed the task over to our newly appointed junior this year, we've even got a display board with the lovely totaliser than tesco send you currently running about about 400 vouchers. If we're really lucky this year we're hoping to get a whole mouse with the vouchers. Mike.
