Perhaps The Most Poorly Thought Out LEGO product Ever?

I think that Lego is a great product. However this may be their worst idea. My son is a real fan of Lego but I think even he would not be impressed by this 'spooky' model.

Don't see a problem except for the bad design. Above and below the eyes and the final line should be a full block. Now if they were slightly stumpier & came in orange, blue, pink and red then I would be all over them!

What's the point of that? All the parts are specialist, rather than generic blocks. Where's the skill in building something which has parts purpose built for it?

there are a lot less specialist pieces in lego now than their used to be and they tend to be just the "show bits" most of the internals are very standard parts (though this is the first one with a pnumatic compressor)

I tried that but it's so frustrating trying to work with virtual Lego in 3D, give me the real thing any day!

I owned the digger but amusingly I used to prefer the ordinary "solid" lego. I hated having "holes" in the technics stuff.

Now this is the stuff for real men not snap fasteners ;D

I used to love Lego. The sound they made when tipped out into a huge pile on the floor. The rummaging through the box for that one tiny last piece for the finishing touch. The near-OCD level of getting the bricks stacked "properly" when building walls. Ahhh childhood. This was one of my faves: LEGO 8280-1: Fire Engine | Brickset: LEGO set guide and database

My cousin had all three of those when I was a kid. Endless fun playing with em. Flash git he was, and boy was I jealous!

I have a meccano superbike here, it's taken so much abuse over the years but minimal damage. RTestament to my building skills? 8)

 

I also have the train set upstairs and took time building the alternative Diesel unit that had no instructions. It took weeks!

I like technic lego when the bits were generic, it seems now when you buy a model/kit that's the only thing you can make with the bits...

at one point yes now the pieces are fairly generic there are more "standard" pieces granted but the newer sets ive got are basically the same pieces apart from things like digger buckets
