As my birthday is at the end of this month I opted for the higher number. Now all you have to do is compare the posts with the poll to work out what it is

Bit of a tough one this, born on 29/2 so do i go for 0 - 18 for the number of birthdays i've had or 25 - 34 for the number of years i've been alive......

Just turned 22 yesterday still wishing i was 21!

I've use to work at the school when i was in 6th form and now come back after my degree (Business related not IT lol) however really enjoy working in this environment where i can see my work making a difference. Money is crap! however I have some really good ideas i'm trying to implement!

Several previous careers (including 20+ years teaching EBD kids in residential special schools!!!). Before that was a binman, fairground worker etc.

Always wondered, but never known anyone to ask.... Do you celebrate your birthhday on the 28th Feb or 1st march? Being as you said wednesday i'm assuming the 28th, what made you pick that one?

I can see that those of you who are very young (under 25 or so) are earning a reasonable salary

 

Don't be so sure about that!

 

I'm 25, cover support on a weekly basis for eight schools and cover two more infrequently, and although my salary grade is very reasonable, the actual take home pay is far from reasonable at not much more than half a grand a month!

 

I'm in my first year out of Uni (long story) but dedicated to education and living with it to build a career, but it's not a big money maker at the moment. So no, it's not just Dorset who pay peanuts.

I cannot see how those of you in your 30's with mortgages and families can possibly manage.

 

I took a huge pay cut to work where I am at the moment. I was lucky enough to have a good pay off in my last job for my many years of service.

The only way I was going to earn the money I was on was to work in the city which I was not going to do.

The real plus side for me now is the fact I am not on call anymore !! Plus I have a window to look out of & people appreciate my work.

Its good experience having worked in the private sector for a long time and then going into a school.

I still can't get my head round the numbers though. 450 users instead of thousands......At least my script files don't take so long to run...
