  2. Hi All, Ever since recreating my Distribution point a large number of my applications get stick downloading in software centre at 0%. The most annoying issues its also causing is with OSD. My task sequencys get stuck on setting up SCCM client. Any thoughts because I am stuck. Normally a good google search will fix most things but this has been bugging me for a few weeks now and I really need a solid imaging system again. Thanks in advance Ross
  3. If I were you I would scrap profile manager and go for Meraki. Ross
  4. Your not alone.. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/internet-related-filtering-firewall/104938-apple-profile-manager-push-settings-not-working-being-quashed-smoothwall.html Ross
  5. Are you using a proxy? I have found that you need to have a proxy exception in for you mac server which can only be done with a pac file. Best way to test is to remove the proxy settings and see how it gets on. Ross

    Ad logon macs

If you look at the console log are you getting errors with the home drive? Also which version of OS X are you using. If its anything below 10.6.6 then I would recommend upgrading! Ross
  7. Is this happening on the wireless? As to a guess it could be OS X is struggling with network performance and it thinks its being helpful. Its a bit like slow links on group policy for offline files. Ross

    Papercut MF Issue

Could be the configuration of the client. I would copy the papercut application from the working mac and install it on the mac with issues with papercut. Ross
  9. It can depend on how your clients were connected to OD. Some clients I have seen will connect to the IP address but if you put in the fqdn as the OD it will not be an issue again if you were to change IP. Ross
  10. Lol thanks I will have a play with that
  11. I have been looking into the Mac client. Seems that you cannot push the Mac client and you need to download the client from Microsoft. Problem is I cannot find the client anywhere!

  14. Not really I have asked the office staff to stress test it for me but that requires them to have 5 minute spare.
  15. I've been monitoring it for about 30 minutes now and it briefly hit 3 for a few seconds. Ross
  16. Thats a lot easier! Its been on 0 for 5 minutes and still going. Ross
  17. I did try your query but i had no luck running it. Ross
  18. We use a full sql version. I personally cant see adding more memory will make that much of a difference but I will up the memory tonight. The paging is done on the root drive and the SQL data is stored on a seperate drive. It is also running on a seperate lun. Ross
  19. Database is 5GB and I found out its an issue when running marksheets, it can take upto 25 minutes to run a behavior and attendance report. In regards to the CPU when I had the DPACK looked at by Dell they said the CPU is fine with the current load. I have dual quads in both virtual hosts. I am not 100% with perf mon but the CPU peaks for a few seconds then returns to around 10 - 40% then peaks. Ross
  20. I have made the nic changes. You say performance to full where is this option? Thanks, Ross
  21. Hi All, I have read a lot of threads with people having similar issues but no responses have helped. I have had this as a on going issue for quite some time now. I think staff have got so use to SIMS running slow they just are creative when they want to run a report. Staff will get a coffee and finish it and still find some reports have not completed. Our SIMS server spec is: 4 Cores 8GB Ram Windows Server 2008 R2 Sql 2008 Example Workstation 128GB SSD Intel Core 2 / i3 2GB / 4GB Ram Windows 7 Enterprise I am running VMWare 5.1 and recently had Dell run a DPACK diagnostics on my setup and reported that everything was working well and no alarming concerns with Memory / IOPS on the Virtual hosts. I am running a Dell MD 3620i SAN with 12 600GB 10k Sas Drives. I am honestly really stumped. I have had the issue when my VM network was running on Hyper V and also updated my SAN as it was running on a MD3200i with 15k Sas Drives. I have ran a re-index patch and still no difference. the Database size is 5GB Any suggestions because I am stumped! Thanks in advance. Ross

  23. I got 23 pens, 1 Cool key shape sisra USB pen and 1 Impero Pen Drive and a samsung one. A mug from Impero and Frog along with a frog stressball. Plus lanyards, badges and lots and lots of paper work to go through! I went with a local school and I managed to beat his pen count by one. It was a good day! Ross
  24. Have you tried doing it with Directory utility or within the system preferences user section. I would first ensure that the account your are binding the machine with has the correct delegate rights or atleast a domain admin for testing. Maybe worth doing it via terminal. dcconfigad is your friend Also as people have mentioned above could be time out of sync. Ross
  25. It depends on how you have setup home folders with work group manager. Have you created a share on the mac server and enabled auto mounting for home drives? I would take a guess and say your users were creating home drives locally. Ross
