What do you wear?

Black T-Shirt, V-neck sweater, black jeans, black doc martens. Crew cut to scare the kids. I'm old and I don't care anymore.

 

Occasionally I'll go in wearing a suit, shirt, tie and cufflinks to scare everybody into thinking I'm going for an interview

The Head is always kitted out in very smart dresses, tops, skirts, boots and jackets

I wish we had some sort of uniform - or even a school sweatshirt - I think that would be much more professional. I wear smart trousers and top. Never a skirt - just isn't practical

Usaly a shirt (untucked), a pair of outdoorsy trousers (Craghoppers Kiwi) and my outdoorsy shoes. From some angles (and because Im only 20) I look like one of our 6th formers if it wasnt for the ID badge!

Once or twice a fortnight a suit. That puts the wind up folks, as the Head will just walk past a comment "Well you're looking smart". Especially so if there's an event at school (external group in, a VIP being shown around or if I'm on a course representing the school) an extra effort is made. The VIP/guests may not talk to you, but being smart in the background helps the overall image of the school.

 

Most male members of staff are chinos, trainers, casual shirt. Even the male members of the SLT rarely wear a tie.

 

If I'm really, really lazy the tie comes off, and the comfy boots come on, but that's rare.

used to be smart trousers, shirt, and tie. Which in 43C days awas a bit painful.

 

Then I started wearing crappy shirts when I knew there was a messy job to be done, and no tie..

 

Eventually managed to get them to provide us with 2 short sleeve shirts and 2 long sleeve shirts with the school logo and IT Dept on them, so now just wear them, with no tie. Makes us all look smart, and means im not worrying about ruining my own good stuff. Also managed to talk them into a jacket and a couple of jumpers for winter too

Currently it's shirt and trousers, occasionally jacket if I need the pockets. Shortly it'll be changing to casual almost all the time, with full suit and tie required if meeting clients.

Jeans and a shirt here, I don't mind wearing a suit but I don't like being hot (and I don't have aircon in the office) so only wear one on special occasions.

I'll be honest and say that sometimes I've caught an eyeful of cleavage and seen a few skirts which seem a bit too short to be professional...... but then the staff who wear those ain't bad looking so I'm not going to complain! lol

I just wear the usual cape and spandex, practical and appropriate

 

On days in the real world I tend to wear a tshirt and jeans though.

Once in a blue moon the suit comes out, usually wear smart trousers and shirt but no tie, more often than not its a work polo shirt and smart trousers, other times its work polo shirt and work trousers with lots of pockets in. Always in my boots which are steel toe capped.

 

Once in a blue moon we go in in jeans.

today i'll be dressed up as super mario but normally jeans and tshirt. Fed up of toner/dust/random splats on nice clothes and i have to work in the server room so anything more than tshirt really doesn't work!

 

Suit is however hanging up ready in case i need to pretend I have some dignity!

I'd prefer to wear shirt and tie, and I used to in my previous school. Where I work now, we are supplied a uniform of polo shirt with school logo and combat trousers. They look scruffy (IMHO) but the school rightly says that we shouldn't be messing up our own clothes when carrying grubby machines, crawling under desks, etc. The grounds staff wear the same kit.

Today I have opted for a dark blue polo neck , the first time I have not worn a shirt to work, I asked the NWM if that would be ok and she ha said yes, all contracters wear them, stone and other people who often come in wear them and our care taker wears them, the PE dept also wear tshirts and jogging bottoms even on days they are only doing class based lessons, I looked at my job description, my initiation docs, the school handbook, school policies and a few other documents and im yet to find anywhere which tells me a set uniform and I have never been told one either. During the summer I have seen teaching staff wear t-shirts and shorts and I also wore much more casual checkered shirts without anyone saying anything.

 

I'm still wearing shoes and proper trousers its not like I look scruffy and i'll be spending most of the day today in the office, I'm also due to go around cleaning projectors so its not like a shirt is vital....I have however brought a shirt to work with me just in case I get some telling off by SLT or other senior members of staff

Twice this week i've been cleaning out storage and removing a switch and ive been coated in dust and dirt, my £5 polo is better for this IMO then my £25 shirts which are in need of replacing anyway due to being almost 2 sizes too big now!

No ties. Ever. Last thing I need to worry about if I'm hauling a printer around, or changing a projector bulb, is a tie being caught in something unneccesary.

 

That and I hate ties.

 

So I tend to dress in jeans, shirt and suit/blazer top, nothing too expensive, last thing I want is to ruin a good shirt with ink toner.

 

Ah come on, they both can't be the last thing you want. Surely one of them has to be the Second to Last thing you want to happen?

 

They tried getting me to wear a tie here. I'm not wearing a tie.

Short sleeved white shirt, trousers and shoes. I sometimes wear a tie but only if I have a lonsleeved shirt on (which is rare). I can't say that in all my years working in schools I've ever got my tie caught in anything, nor have I ever dropped anything heavy on my foot so never felt the need for steel toecaps.

 

If a computer is filthy I won't carry it, simple. If its owner can't be bothered to keep it clean then I won't look at it until they can.

 

During the holidays it's jeans and t/polo shirt. Denim is banned completely during term times. FCUK logos are banned permanently.
