Completed a first run through and only came across one problematic glitch (my gun went invisible and stopped firing). Now doing another run through as I decided I didn't like the character I ended up with at the end, with the decisions taken. The story all made sense, I just decided I didn't like the consequences of my character's actions, so I'm starting over with a different run and a whole different set of ideals to stick to. Will probably do at least at hird run after that following yet another path to see what happens. I wouldn't say it's game of the year (*cough* Hades *cough*), but I'm enjoying it and have got my money's worth. Then again I'm on a PC and have apparently been lucky glitch-wise.

New user might be a bit of a stretch, but I thought I'd do a new introduction anyway as it's been a little while. Things have changed a bit and mostly nowadays my only contact with schools is running security awareness training, or talking to students about why they should definitely work in cyber security. Bumped into some edugeek notifications while looking through my junk folder and thought I'd check if the door was still open.

Schemes of work sound about right actually. Not being in education for some years this is somewhat new to me (or old enough that I've forgotten it). Thanks for the advice both, I've now got a place to start pulling things together.

I've recently been given a project to develop some training materials and course plans. While I've done a couple of university lectures before I've not had to produce anything structured, and in this case I need to take a particular approach. I'm hoping someone here will have more experience with this sort of thing than me (not difficult) and might be able to point me towards guidance/resources. The approach I need to take on this is modular, such that a bespoke course could be constructed for anything from two hours to a full week (obviously covering different topics in different depth depending on time available). For example, there might be a two hour phishing recognition and familiarisation course - or the option of adding in modules to extend it to a much more in-depth course for technical staff, covering how to protect users from phishing and train them in awareness. Really what I want to do is build up a collection of lesson plans, which can be stuck together as needed. I've got all the stuff I want in my head, I'm just struggling with a way to actually put it on paper to demonstrate how this would work.

Wouldn't you need a waterproofed phone for a truly immersive experience? Fairly sure google cardboard isn't really suitable for that.

Cursive writing does, admittedly, look attractive. However it's not the most readable form - I never got the hang of it and eventually refused to do it at school. Complete waste of time that could've been spent on teaching touch-typing and legible print handwriting instead. And more importantly, Batman's a perfect answer there.

Now that I've got the beast all set up and tuned so that I'm happy with it, I need something a little more portable to take into the office, and to conferences. This means that there are some specific requirements I want any proposal to meet. Reasonable memory and processor (reasonable defined as 8GB, and preferably a quad-core processor so I can spin up a few utility VMs). Reasonable internal HDD (500GB is enough here). Ideally, swappable secondary hard drive with four or five 'spares', the idea being that I can use different installs on different drives for different purposes. Alternatively I can do the same with a decent SD card reader and a pocketful of cards, so this isn't that urgent. Portable, with at least 4 hours battery (preferably more). Nice to have would be a 2-in-1, but that's not particularly important. Budget maxes out at £500. I'm happy with refurbs or similar, but ideally want something sooner (much sooner) rather than later if possible. All ideas, thoughts, suggestions welcome. Thanks for your help.

Seems recently written data was affected, so stuff that was waiting to be committed for backup. Honestly looking at the numbers, I don't think they've done badly.

It means that they can call me at any time. I'm free to do whatever I want, and if I'm not in a suitable state to respond I can decline (and if they can't get hold of me the same), in which case they'll call my counterparts in the States, Europe or Australasia instead. That's their second resort because if it turns out to be something which requires physical presence it can get expensive moving people around. One of the global team will always be available at any time, thanks to time zones and shifts. At the moment I'm the only one in the UK - but that'll change as time goes on.

Not a school, but I'm on permanent on-call. It hasn't yet been needed as the 1st and 2nd tier can usually deal with things - I'll only get called in if we get something really weird happening. If I do get ccalled in, they're flexible about any time I feel like taking off in return.

As much as I'd love new screens, this is only a temporary home office so I can't bolt things to the walls (gimme six months though...). I don't believe in mood lighting or dark offices - the amount of time I spend in front of a screen between work and home lighting is important if I want to keep my vision. As for the GUI, I'm much more a fan of a good shell for 90% of my work.
