We currently have 20 out, and they are considering not running year 7 or 8 classes this week

Precisely... it's a joke, could go on and on but beginning to sound jealous. Shame some of them will manage to get back too.

Head and about 10 teachers here. Plus about 10 kids in the US on a trip.

 

The least of my worries, the production SAN threw both PSUs, a disk and a MMC card on Friday and replacement parts were actually in the country.

We have some teachers in New York, Italy, India and the chef in Jamaica, the 20 teachers excludes non teaching staff. Unsure but probably only 5 support staff out.

You could argue that there are potential unknown health risks due to the ash filtering down, and so you're unwilling to leave the bar...uh, hotel until the eruption stops or the school make suitable provisions for your travel. A simple filter mask should be enough, but it'd give you a few extra days waiting for it to be delivered.

 

Personally I think this is just solid evidence that we should bring back airships and scrap these noisy, pollution, expensive plains, along with the jet-set lifestyle.
