Razor history.

What razar do you use I just have moved to the King of Shaves Azor.

 

I have had an electric, mach 3, 3D Protector and Fusion.

 

What about you and what do you find the best cost/performance wise?

 

Do you find you change razor when your face gets irritated by them?

errr random, i use the lovley wilkinson sword disposable gubbins as they have a lil plastic bit between the blades that u can empty the trapped hair out with, so cheap and decent shave

 

i refuse to spend £10+ on replacement blades for the mac thingies

Was a Mach3 user for years until i had a free Wilkinson Sword sent to me. It has a useless hair trimmer which i have never used but find it much nicer to use.

 

The blades on it seem to last a stupid amount of time compared to Gillette ones.

Merkur DE 34 Razor with Israeli blades

 

Made the move from annoyingly expensive Gillette razors to this a few years ago. Haven't looked back since - certainly doesn't irritate my skin anywhere near as much. Slightly expensive to get the razor, shaving brush and cream/soap to start but I find the on going costs to be much much lower. Spend pennies on razor blades these days

I must have every razor handle going, my memory is terrible so I end up buying the wrong blades then getting the handles to match because I feel dumb swapping the blades (although sharing that it seems dumber... oh well)

I used to use Mach3/5 razors for years. Tried Wilkinson Sword, but they don't agree with me. I think my facial hair is too tough for their blades or something....

 

Anyway, I'm now using a good old fashioned safety razor, with brush and shaving soap. I thought it would be inconvenient compared to the shaving foam/gel, but it's just the opposite. Plus replacement blades cost 70p for 5 in Wilkinson, and they last just as long as the expensive ones from Gillette.

Fusion & Mach 3 are good in that you will never cut yourself but invest in decent shaving foam and post shaving balm to have the best results.

Same, got a philips electric that ive had for a few years but most of the time I just use a beard trimmer, keep the old stubble there for the ladies

I've tried a few recently. Started with Gillette and stayed for ages, then realised the price was going through the roof. Tried Wilkinson Sword freebies and like it. Expensive though. Tesco's Matrix where good but then I tried the King Of Shaves razer and loved it. Good pricing and used with their gubbins goes through 3 to 5 days of stubble easy. As said before a decent foam / gel, plenty of hot water and a good aftershave moisturiser and sorted.

Seeing as I shave almost randomly, maybe a couple of days in a row, maybe once a week and then again I might not for a month or 2. I've only ever found straight razors can deal with that sort of a regime till I found the Rolls. Though to be fair nowaydays if I do leave it 2 months I tend to trim it before a proper shave.

Gillette G2 with the lubricationg strip and Wilko's shaving oil. I shave in a nice hot shower and it probably costs a fortune but it's the only way I can get a close shave. When I didn't have to be in work until 9am, I used to go for a swim and then have a long sauna, followed by shave in the shower. My face was a smooth as a baby's bum.

Mach 3 has generally been fine, but have recently moved onto Supermarket own brands as I have discovered that the key to a great shave is to lather up using a shaving brush in order to properly soften and loosen your stubble.

 

My face is smooth as a babies botty and so are my legs.
