Im trying to do a migration from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 SP1 across forests. I have already set up the DNS and i can ping the servers from each DC, i have also already created the trust. The next step i am trying to do is using Prepare-MoveRequest.ps1 The code is above what I am using, i keep getting the following back Ive searched the internet and i cant see where im going wrong.

Ive recently started a process of checking through the antivirus on all our domain computers within the school. We use Sophos Enterprise manager on our server to synchronise groups with the AD and to automatically protect the machines. Unfortunately though some machines just refuse to automatically protect through the console. I read around a bit online and the general consens seems to point me at the bootstrap installers? Ive had a play with this and arent getting much joy. Does anyone have any tips and tricks on how to get this to work?

Brilliant, Do you have any issues with it or does it run without any bother? Thanks,

Morning, Weve just had a new CC4 network deployed in one of our schools and we are wanting to start to use the network. Unfortunately due to lack of budget and the fact we have Sophos provided by our authority we havent taken the RM virus protection and need to configure Sophos ourselves. Has anyone else managed to do this or does anyone have a list of exclusions i can use for our sophos? Thanks

Picked up a new 11 plate Volvo C30 SE 1.6 Start \ Stop last week. Got it with metallic black, parking sensors, heated seats and bluetooth Enjoying the 30 mile stretch of the A19 with the cruise control and my fuel bills being halfed at the moment. The black was filthy after 2 days though :/

We have zip drives still sealed in sellophane in the cupboard here. Bought way before i started and have never seen the light of day. Anyone want a Zip drive doorstop?
-
Nope, only ever has the one. Was a clean install from scratch

Afternoon Guys, Has anyone got any experience with rebuilding a SYSVOL partition on a 2003 server? The server is the only DC and we have no backups that go back far enough with a working SYSVOL to do a restore from. All the instructions online seem to talk about copying from another working DC which we dont really have.

We just bought 2 x Bigtraks from play for £17.99 each

how did you find the lenovos? Did you fasten the optional stand to it or use them as they came?
-
I looked into this and came to the conclusion i would need a seperate filtering solution on top if i wanted to do it. In a talk with EXA they said it couldnt be done but it was very easy for staff to unblock sites as required (in reality that you just wouldnt allow that to happen though)

Got up to watch the F1 on Saturday and Sunday, knackered me out so i went to sleep like a log last night! Makes a change, usually stuffs my body clock for a few days

Ive got a HP MediaSmart server and im more than happy with it. I think its a bit more expensive than usual solutions but it comes in a small box that i can tuck away and it just works. Its based on server 2003 and its is configurable although they reccomend against it because of the way its hacked together. You can get instructions on how to make it into a domain controller etc and SQL server etc seem to run fine. I use mine mainly for storage, the drive extender is pretty awesome but ive got a test apache and mysql running and external access so i can get to my files from work

If its the one near the SilverLink yeah, usually deal with Darren

Just spoke to our account manager at PCWB, he said they have the odd high end machine around still but only old stock. He also agrees with me that if you but Win7 you can contact MS and ask them for a key to downgrade it to XP. Looking like your only plan, ive tried a few other manufacturer and they are all saying the same. Oh and i used stone previously and wasn't impressed!
-
Just seen Hightowers post, that was my understanding as well
-
Ive always preferred to install from scratch, when you use those manufacturer disks they always include bloatware I end up wasting time removing. You could just buy a machine and buy a windows 7 licence through a select agreement and then downgrade?
-
Can you not just purchase machines with Windows 7 pro and install XP yourself?
-
More then happy with mine, about 90 machines, 25 members of Full time staff. Much cheaper then upgrading our old office 2003 and machines to windows 7 any other way. Im going to love not having to whine about not having licenses for new machines that randomly get bought!

MTC in Sunderland (MTC Training : Homepage) Its a partnership with Sunderland Uni, they get some of the course funding from somewhere else to go with it. For the MCSA they enrolled you into the university and had to take 3 Uni exams in addition to the MS ones but then only had to pay £1500 out of the £5000 it should cost. The MCITP is done a similar way but you don't have to take the extra exams. The training overall has been pretty good, all official MS course material and MS trainers. Cant fault them for the price at all really!
-
I did my MCSA (18 Days) for £1500 and am working on my MCITP now (18 Days) for £1500 as well I tried to read the books and watch the videos but they are nowhere near as good as actually being in a class. Lots of things they cover aren't in the book and the trainers give you useful tips on problems they have encountered and best practice (not just MS best practice)
