Asked to repair the sole on someones shoe and also sort someones glasses

 

Glasses I can kind of understand as they can require the use of small screwdrivers to repair, the kind of which a good IT tech has in his/her tool set. Shoes though......WTF!

Someone last week asked me to help them as they had trouble with the school direy. I imminently pictured the staff member trying and failing to open the pages and then holding the pen upside down.

The sole was falling off.

Plenty of UHU, a few screws and a vice and it was good enough to make a cobbler weep

Propulsion design for a hovercraft.

 

 

 

(bit of card set at an angle to the downwards facing fan that directs some of the downforce to the back of the hovercraft for forward movement ).

Bit lame to be honest :/ Shame your every move is monitored. I did like it though. I see the point about misinterpretation though.

I was asked for an OHP and said I have one in a basement ready for them, I don't think the heads PA believed me, was tempted to dig it out and leave it on her desk for her to come into tomorrow but thought better of it :) As for weird, I get everything at times, had the toilets have run out of loo roll, bin bags, vacuum cleaner, the electric man is here to read the meter, you name it we seem to get it :)

Strangest request?

 

Student asked me if I wanted her virginity. A very unpleasant moment indeed. She got a very startled "no".

 

Kids will say anything to impress their mates.

Along with the multitude of requests from the drama / events people as we double up as Sound and Lighting Engineers too, along with stagehands... I've only been here a month!

My wife informs me that many a girl would happily give her virginity to Batman, so i think you were asking for that one really.

 

Once had a student come in to borrow a screwdriver. Which is fair enough, as it's actually quite likely we would have them (and did), but I don't lend my own tools to students, especially not without asking why they want them. "Mrs X needs to force the lock open on a filing cabinet," was the response.

 

I gave him a blank stare and told him to go ask the caretaker.
