  1. Fronter that brings back memory's. Absolutely zero SEN support but mandatory forced on all local SEN schools. Not that is was much better for most primary or secondary schools. We never did manage to get Fronter into a manageable state. Was a giant waste of time and money.
  2. My experience yes it saves the company loads of time by wasting the customers time and driving up customer frustration levels. Almost every time I have encountered an AI agent its made the overall experience worse.
  3. I had a similar experience with the Konica Minolta AI. It kept rambling on it was real, part of the family and everywhere while refusing to actually provide support or do its job. Another time there phone AI caused major issues leaving our site without toner for 3 weeks as it decided to change the shipping location without telling us. The amount of time we wasted due to that AI has not left me impressed.
  4. There are a number of different ways of doing the transfer options. Some trusts will use software to transfer all data/emails out of one 365 tendency into the new tendency with a name match. Others will start afresh and leave it to the end user to manually backup what they want to keep. Most of the big MIS options have an export/import though I wont pretend its prefect. One can for example export the SIMS database into Bromcom. Last time I went though this process we backed up the Sharepoint/OneDrives and main School Network shares. Then transferred them to the new trusts systems. The entire process is a big job but in theory not that bad if everything is documented and well setup. Usually we would do something like set a hard date to make the MIS read only. Ask Admin to do a tidy up of the MIS data. Transfer everything to the new MIS but keep the old MIS running in read only mode for x months. Combined with a full training day for all admin staff on the new MIS.
  5. There is no straight forward answer. Depending on the state of the trust the site is leaving and the state of the trust joining this can be a nightmare or simple and relative straight forward or anything in-between. The new trust that takes over ultimately has to unpack and get everything into a working state. Ideally with the help and proper handover from the previous Trusts IT. It all depends how robust the procedures are from both sides. The new trust is responsible but the old trust where possible is expected to cooperate and help. The thing is very often the school is leaving for a reason. Very often the cooperation and help isn't there to the expected level. If a school is leaving its usually because something had gone wrong or is being badly managed, which means it more likely not to have proper documentation or proper handovers. Not always some do amazing documentation and handovers. Others you will be lucky to so much as the admin passwords and nothing else.
  6. This is a bit of a long shot but deleting the files in shell:recent\AutomaticDestinations and shell:recent\CustomDestinations has help me with similar problems in other programs.
  7. As far as I can tell everyone has given up on AI tools for the most part on the sites I visit. They are just too unreliable and provide too much false information presented in a confident this is correct manner. The only tools I haven't given up on is some of the photo editing tools for removing backgrounds and stuff.
  8. Geovison is an alternative to Paxton both have differing cons and pros. While I do prefer using Geovison its far from perfect and has just as many cons as Paxton. One of which is the card designer for Geovision is useless to the point I do not even bother with it. I wouldn't say Paxtons card designer is great but it functions and does the job.
  9. That's better then what I have been getting. Instead of correcting mistakes or saying it got it wrong it acts like it was right all along. Last night I couldn't find a setting I was after so asked the AI and it was telling me to go into a systems sub menu that never existed. Then when I asked it why it told me to do that it said something along the lines of, by system sub menu in the program it was referring to the config file in documents so it wasn't wrong. Outside of photo editing AI for me has been 20% amazing with saving time while 80% down right frustrating. Photo Editing more heavily into saving time.
  10. Personally I thought InVentry was at that stage 5+ years ago and Sign-in are well past the stage of being new upstarts. Though I get what you are saying and agree. CPOMS fall down went they got brought out by a bigger player. That's when it all started to go wrong.
  11. We are having the same problems. CPOMS went from being one of the best supports to one of the worst in recent years. Tickets go unanswered or takes weeks, no way to view open tickets or even to know what a ticket is about. Responses are generic cut and pasts. Constant background changes being made that make no sense and are not communicated. Like the roles being moved out of the school and into all buildings. On top of that I lost permissions to assign new staff to the DSL group because they changed how groups work but didn’t tell us. Support reply was a copy paste 'How to change staff roles in CPOMs" which didn't cover the fact we now need permission to assign each group.

    HDMI Quirks

We found some of the cheaper HDMI cables would cause those problems. We had to replace 50+ broad HDMI cables with higher quality 4k HDMI which solved most of our problems. Another 5 to 10 boards needed extra powered HDMI. Another problem we ran into was certain laptops reduced power output to the HDMI port reducing the length of the HDMI cable so the cable would work for the desktop unit then fail for the laptop. We had to put those laptops into high power mode or keep the power supply plugged in. With HDMI I think there is a balance. Those £60 gold plated PC World cables are a complete rip off. But there is a bandwidth difference between a good quality HDMI cable and the cheap budget cables. EDIT: Not sure it will help, try adjusting the desktop power profile to high and see if it effects the HDMI port. 100% some laptops adjust HDMI power output. Not sure the same applies to desktops.
  13. Split. IT do the controllers, ID badges, CCTV and like from a software side. Site team do mechanical or hardware faults, yearly maintenance (Cleaning of CCTV).
  14. That's how it was for us. Teamviewer and a few other remote tools often old versions that had not been updated in years, full of security problems and they wanted full admin access which was the least of the problems we ran into with InVentry. There product was made for single sites and had all sorts of work arounds and problems across muti sites or even a MAT. It wasn't just the product, there staff procedures (at the time we used them) was outdated and clashed with how many MAT are setup.
  15. Best thing we ever did was move away from InVentry and go to Sign in App. "we were told that practically no other schools have issues with the way they do things!" That doesn't sound right. There are multiple entire MATs that left them due to issues with the way they do things. My previous MAT put in an official complaint related to outdated practices that caused us major problems. Just need to read some of the threads on here to see its multiple unrelated people with similar problems.
  16. Along with Passenger Attendants who usually walk up and down the isles/cabins dealing with requests. How is an AI going to fetch my order on a plane and serve me a proper cup of tea. While also sorting out the argument between who sits in 4B.
  17. None of them have enough accuracy. You can put famous works into them and they can came back as AI written even though the work predate AI by many years. Some of them think the US Constitution is AI written. If you use them them student that have not used AI will be falsely trigger as AI written. With 1100 students you will be looking at 100's of false positives per run.
  18. It can be a bit of both. Richer Sounds often recommend pure copper cable which was one of the best audio upgrades I did. There was a noticeable difference between copper coated to pure copper cable. Changing nothing but the quality of the cable impacted my sound output. I say it’s a bit of both because cables like those £50+ HDMI cables from PC World or many of the £100+ or worse £500+ audio cables are a complete rip off. At the same time more expensive high quality audio and HDMI quality do matter but only up to a point. EDIT: To clarify as long as the cable quality reaches a certain threshold any more doesn't matter. Some of the cheaper cables can impact sound or image due to low quality.
  19. OwlCat have a really strong track record. I think this one is in good hands.
  20. Laser Projectors are usually really low maintenance with very long running hours often in the 30,000 hours range. No blub change, no 50% loss in brightness as they get used. Almost instant on/off. Usually no filters and a vastly superior image over blub based projectors. Personally I would never go back to a bulb based projector again. Any future hall projectors are going to be all lasers for me. I use a laser at home over a TV.
  21. When my last Trust shut down we archived the schools data to some external storage company. I think the LA or who ever was in charge of shutting the trust down dealt with that. As IT I was asked to help provide the data but the decisions and responsibility for this was at the highest level of management. The entire thing wasn't smooth, everyone in the central team was made redundant but in typical fashion everyone "forgot" about IT staff having not informed us about anything despite being part of the central team.
  22. We use a number of products from https://www.inclusive.com/uk/hardware/eye-gaze-technology.html 100% try before buying if possible. Some people get on with Eye Gaze style technology really well while others don't.
  23. Last week.......They kind of forgot to tell us all.
  24. Fully agree there should be an email. https://status.raptortech.com/ gives us a status update but unless you happen to know about it, I am not sure how one would find it.
  25. The best thing we did was move away from InVentry to Sign In App.
