Give the Buffalo tech support a ring. They were helpful when I was struggling to rebuild an array in a terastation. Matt

Just a guess, but sounds like she doesn't have write permissions to c:\program files\sims When you select where the connect file is it writes that location into an ini file in the FMS subfolder. Matt

Network Manager Vacancy - Warwickshire
saundersmatt replied to saundersmatt's topic in Educational IT Jobs
This is probably a hangup from when we were running an ancient version of Joomla, that was exploited. You can probably access the site at an alternative URL here. Failing that, PM me your email and I'll mail them over. Matt -
Hi, There is a vacancy for Network Manager going at the Avon Valley School in Rugby, Warwickshire. Details for the post can be found on the school's website. Any questions about the position, just ask. Matt

Is anybody about that has access to the latest SIMS installable release, or a recent version of the setups folder? I'm trying to migrate from SQL 2008 to 2012 on a new server, but need to setup sims on this server first. Both Capita and my LEA support team aren't in the office until later this week, and I'd really like to get this done today/tomorrow. Thanks in advance. Matt

You mean the address bar?

Uhoh, exams officer isn't going to like that. Do you have any details about the patch. Our LEA support desk keep pointing me towards an basedata file issue. Matt

Hi, I've been passed this problem with SIMS/Exams as it's had our exams officer stumped for a few weeks. When importing the Edexcel BTEC results file, it imports results for some qualifications, but not for others. The error displayed in the result log is "Aspect Type Result for Element not found" When checking the qualification properties in the basedata, the Result gradeset is unpopulated for qualifications that are failing, and populated for qualifications that are not failing. See picture . Refreshing the basedata does not populate this field. Anyone got any ideas? I've requested to be resent the basedata from Edexcel for these qualifications but they do not seem overly willing to do this as it will require them to recreate the result file. Thanks, Matt

Oddly that's exactly the same room layout as the flat I used to live in. I did as everyone else has suggested and ran Cat5 behind the skiring boards following the layout attached. I did do it at the same time as removing the skirtings to fit hardwood flooring though, so it wasn't a big job given that I was removing skirtings anyway. Matt

That's my general feeling toward Macs. Matt

We live with this (haven't ever investigated any other way of doing it) and instruct students to click Go-> Home on the finder menu. Matt

We experienced the same problem when introducing Macs. It's to do with the way that OS X navigates to shared folders. Whereas Windows will blindly connect to the full path, OS X for some reason seems to traverse the path, so requires Special permissions for the Students group at the year group folder level of List folder / Read data - This folder only.. See screenshot attached Matt

It's for general browsing, although I don't post much. Site performs absolutely fine, very nippy otherwise.

That's the same on IE9 too. Also vertical spacing for the horizontal menu bar is smaller than in Chrome, and the News menu on the right of the homepage shows a "News and Events" blue cog header below the News text. Matt

Has been happening intermittently for me all day, via fixed-line and 3g, and is still occurring now. Matt

SchoolIP and other Performance Management software (Not MIS)
saundersmatt replied to witch's topic in General Chat
I know of two school's who use Performance Management, CPD, Lesson Observation and School Improvement for schools and the education sector. Staff hate it, but I think that is more to do with the fact that they need to document things, rather than hating the website itself. Matt -
Apologies, I forgot about this yesterday. The folders that you need to copy from your reference machine are as follows: Library/Application Support/Logic Library/Application Support/Garageband Library/Audio/Apple Loops Library/Audio/Impulse Responses I used ARD to do this in two tasks, the beauty of this is that ARD uses multicast for file transfers by default. Matt

You can just copy all the requires files to their respective location. I did this on 30 macs during half term. I will find the list of files I made when I'm back at my desk later. Matt

Hi, Has anyone been able to create augmented user records on 10.8 server yet? All the guides I've read have been in relation to 10.6/7 and the changes between using Workgroup Manager and Server.app/Directory Utility are scuppering me at every turn. Matt
