FN-GM Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 For your primary e-mail address for home and personal use, who do you use?
Arcath Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I own my own domain that i have setup a google apps account for, so i suppose that counts as google mail
pete Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Hosting package for $domains has a reliable mail service as well, so I've used them for about 5 yrs.
powdarrmonkey Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Host my own with immediate, proactive delivery (average transit time: 0.6s)
tech_guy Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Erm, depends on who I am and what I'm up to: For my own little business I've got my own domain. For friends there's a couple of Yahoo accounts, and for family there's a hotmail account. I get most of it (where possible) pushed to a gmail account for ease of use and spamfiltering.
SteveBentley Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Do I detect an ulterior motive to this post, as GMail is currently down?
rolfea Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 never got along with GMail, so the popular, over rater Hotmail it is.
matt40k Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Gmail for general junk \ mass mail etc Google aps for everything else. Did try Windows Live rubbish, but the spam at the bottom hacked me off. Plus no unix guru likes getting it those rubbishly html emails
RabbieBurns Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Ive got a hotmail that ive used for about 12 years or so, but my main mail is through my own domains and hosting package these days. I use Domain City - DomainCity, Low Cost Domain Name Registration,Web Site Hosting, Email Spam Virus Scanning
teejay Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Have my own domain with hosting providers email, plus various hotmail and gmail accounts for stuff. Have the important accounts set up on my blackberry, which is a fantastic device.
triggmiester Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I Use fastmail as my main one, I have hotmail for signing up for things to avoid the crap and I also have a gmail one for facebook and newletter things.
joe90bass Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I generally use my work e-mail for everything (I know it's bad practice!) I do have a hotmail account I use for things where I'm likely to get spammed, etc.
jamin100 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 ashamed to say - MobileMe Cant be arsed to change it though
featured_spectre Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Work email for work although somehow has managed to get spam in it! Hotmail for general website sign ups etc taylorsdesigns.co.uk account for personal use.
john Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 My own hosted with the delightful CS New Media
SkreeM1980 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Gmail for most everything, have some old addresses forwarded there too, i did have my own domain, but really got bored of it. [email protected] looks professional when on CV's etc better than my hotmail (spam only account these days) which was an embarassment on the job apps. skr
