webman Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 As I visited BETT last year, I'm already registered on their site so logged in to the 'Already registered?' bit. I checked and updated my details, and at the top of the page it says 'We look forward to seeing you at Olympia London, 14 - 17 January 2009.' Does this mean I'll get the leaflet & badge in the post? As there's no confirmation saying that...
Edu-IT Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Can anyone with a copy of the BETT plan identify where T46 is? Is it down the stairs?
Edu-IT Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 (edited) I think it's on the upper level. I can't for the life of me find it on the map! Edit: Found it, near to the cafe bar. Edit 2: I'm not going crazy. It's on the plan on the website but not the printed one they sent through the post. Edited January 10, 2009 by Edu-IT

I am sure their is somewhere where you can print the badge online or at least a barcode to scan to create your badge once you get to Olympia in the fast track entrance or something like that.
featured_spectre Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I am still waiting for my line manager to say yes to it. I tried to explain to him the benefits of me going, but lets see what he says!
featured_spectre Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 well he said I can go on Friday, My first port of call shall be the edugeek stand!
featured_spectre Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 For Anyone who wants to know how to get your ticket if you havent had it yet, go to the BETT show, there is a fast track machine there Enter in your Code and your Surname and it will print it off for you. I hope that helps.
webman Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I checked the GO GREEN box, but still haven't had an email - are they manually processed?
powdarrmonkey Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Ok, I've just discovered that I'm not expected to be on school time beyond about 4pm, so would you like me on the stand? (I'll see you for pizza in any case, of course )
plexer Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I've not received my badge yet either or I have done and misplaced it so I used the send me my details bit from the website to remind me of my number and haven't had an email yet. Ben
featured_spectre Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 did you not get one in your initial email when you registered? I checked that first before I asked for my number again. Its been such a help. Also I am not expected to be there beyond 3:30 on school time, so I am able to help from 3:30 onwards
woodham Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I'll be there friday , Traveling down thursday night to stay with friends, Bett on friday and then off to see "Wicked" in the west end on friday night if My blag for tickets comes off.
Nedders Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Going to be there on Thursday - can provide some lunchtime pizza for you Geekers if you are allowed to eat during the day!!
OverWorked Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I'll be there Weds & Thurs. I'm having to travel by National Express bus (from Leeds), as we can't afford the train. The Head told me not to spend any money whilst there. Fortunately I can spend the night at my in-laws in London. See you there!
BatchFile Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 What exactly is BETT? My understanding is that it's an exhibition where alsorts of educational providers show off their stuff - like the motor show but for educational stuff... have I got this right and what's a good argument to get the SLT to let me go next year?

noah Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Do we need a special pass to get our Free Pizza!?

It's a pretty good way to check out what's new, I'm told the seminars are very useful, and it's also good to cement relationships with existing vendors. Also a good jolly keeps IT folk happy
OverWorked Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Also a good jolly keeps IT folk happy I'm just going through the floorplan and planning my trip now. I've not been before and I'm looking forward to it. How did EduGeek and Smoothwall get adjacent stands? And so close to the Cafe Grand?

mattcharlton Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I'm at BETT for the first time in two years, albeit as an exhibitor rather than a Network Manager this time. Will try to stop by the edugeek stand

How did EduGeek and Smoothwall get adjacent stands? And so close to the Cafe Grand? We have been exhibiting at BETT long enough that we get a decent pick of stands now. Didn't used to, first few years we were chopped and changed all over the shop. The organisers now know we like to live beside the EG stand so we can share our t'internet etc. As for the cafe... its good to be near (but not too near) a food outlet. You want the traffic, but not the sandwich eating refugees!
obripa Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Yes I'll be there on Wednesday + one Colleague ... and we'll partake in some Pizza. Paul:D
