It should be this morning. The camera Ric brought with him had failed to work correctly and D-Link are going to lend us one. They had to get it from their London offices though.

I had a great time, but by 2:00 thursday I'd suffered information overload and had to retire to a small pub near Charing Cross.

 

Great to meet everyone again at the stand on Thursday. I came by a couple of times on Wednesday, but everyone had their heads buried in their laptops.

 

Got to meet Ozan, who provides a great service with My Little Helpdesk. I'm a customer and use it for my small IT support business. My customers like it too.

 

Thanks for the pizza on Thursday. It kept me going.

 

Thanks to Smoothwall for the smoothies. One for being a customer and one for answering the questionnaire. (I've only just got that BTW, Smoothwall - Smoothie, I'm slow sometimes). Spoke to the ladies on the stand, but didn't get to speak to Tom or Gavin, they were way too busy flogging their service.

 

Wanted to speak to the Cutter guy about thin clients, but couldn't get hold of him.

 

This was my first time at BETT. See you again next year.

Currently sitting on a National Express train from Leeds to London Kings X, enjoying the free wifi (when my brand new HP Laptop doesn't keep BSOD'ing - never take a company laptop with you is my lesson learnt! Always take your own if its alive unlike mine :'( ) Wonder if we have any more edugeeks on this train, that would be well spookey if we did!!! I'd have gone by train if I'd got organised earlier and got the cheap deals.

 

There are cloakrooms at Olympia - £1 per item, so stuff everything in one bag if you can.

 

Also: get something to eat and drink before you go in, and take bottled water. The food prices there are astronomical, although Pizza Express was reasonably priced.

Cheers mate, I'm happy carrying my Laptop bag round as its a rucksack so can stuff bits in it but I've got me changes of clothes as im here for the weekend so don't really want to lug that around with me, so will Cloakroom that I think Cheers for the Advice I've got a bottle of water somewhere in my laptop bag already, learnt that from the past 3 visits.

Just wanted to say thanks for the warm greetings at the Edugeek stand.

I almost cried when I heard the lanyards had run out! Managed to pick one up off another stand. Definitely going on the Thursday next year.

Am very much supporting an edugeek online shop if its on the cards!

 

Was also good to see Ozan there as we're planning on getting mylittlehelpdesk up and running in the next month or two. Was nice to hear that asset management will be added to the already great package.

Just got home (well, after dropping on a rehearsal on the way), and got to say that it was good to put faces to names (even if I was too late to get in on the pizza action..!).

 

The stand seemed to be pretty busy throughout the day too, hopefully its' position near the cafe helped guide a few visitors in the right direction...

Okai, just got back into my hotel room after spending the night out with the Edugeek team, so need to get some sleep and be ready and waiting at BETT for the 10am start So if the team look a bit tired tomorrow on the stand its probably due to the late night we've had!!!!

Last day of BETT 2009. A fantastic show so far but we are now cable tying things down, gaffer taping the tables to the floor and posting securit guards next to the MediaCATs.

 

Oh yes, today is the day when people will try and grab everything and anything.

 

And yes, we will be going out on a raid to see what other freebies we can grab to give away. We have been talking to a few other exhibitors and there will be some prize draws and competitions over the next few weeks to give away what is left.

Highlight of the BETT show this year is a toss up between time spent chatting on the Edugeek stand with Dos_Box, Zerohour and others, and the time spent on Lenovos stand blagging some of their A4 'notebooks'. Easily the coolest freebie I've encountered in my few years going to the BETT show.

 

Was mildly disturbed at ZeroHours ability to apply every new technological breakthrough to the further development of porn...

Damn - never did get to try a pair of those 3D shutter glasses, or find the mini projector that was supposed to be floating around the EduGeek stand. Did anyone else have a try of the polarised 3D glasses system that was just by the EduGeek stand, next to the cafe section? I was quite impressed, although I didn't get around to asking how much it cost.

Yeh I was lucky and stumbled accross this. Gave me and my colleague a demo. Was absolutely incredible.

 

It really did feel like true 3D, very crisp images.

 

The only price I got was for the glasses which I think he said costs £600 to manufacture. So they're not too commercial at the moment. Apparently they're trying to get the costs down to sell them on for £30 a piece.

 

Awesome kit though. Nothing like the typical red and green method I was used too!
