It's iPhone Release Day! 🥳

Will you be getting the new iPhone? 📱🤔

If yes, which model will you be getting?

➡️ iPhone 15

➡️ iPhone 15 Plus

➡️ iPhone 15 Pro

➡️ iPhone 15 Pro Max

If no, what phone do you have already?

Have 14 Pro Max, my iPhone routine is to keep them till they dont function anymore! Had an XS Max before that only reason i got a new one was due to the top speaker stopped working. Tied with my dropping my old airpods into a pond meant i didnt have any way of talking or listening on a call!

Happy with my Samsung S21 Ultra 5G tbh. Got it "refurbished" at half its retail price about 6 months after launch. Will likely not be until next year before I consider replacing it again! They last an easy 3 years now.

I've got a standard 13 which is coming up for a year old at this point. Got that instead of the 14 as the two are near enough identical, so why bother spending more?

I plan to keep it until Apple don't support it with new iOS releases any more, like I did with the 3GS, the 5 and the 7 I had.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22+ and I wouldn't be seen dead with an iPhone. I like my USB-C actually conforming to standards ;)

The USB C ports on the iPhone 15s do conform with USB standards? Yes, the base 15 only has USB 2, which is a bugger if you're transferring large files to and from it, but it still uses a standard USB-C port which connects to USB-C peripherals and chargers.

I'd still use my iPhone 4 If I could, it still powers on and the screen is good enough for me :-). I'm another one who keeps phones as long as possible. Currently an iPhone 11 Edited by Davit2005

Okay then, clarification, up-to-date standards, not a 23-year-old spec :p (Google says USB2 was April 2000)

Typical Apple, really. Taking what works and doing it their way, which half the time is a much worse implementation. Fast/wireless charging spring to mind.

Almost 3 yr old Ulefone Armor 7e, which will get replaced when it breaks/gets slow or apps stop functioning/aren't compatible. Would be happy to get another from them. Cost £200 as I don't see the point in spending huge amounts on a phone.

As annoying as Apple are re standards, I have to say their Lightning connector (a single "tongue" that fits into a receptacle) seems a better design than even USB C, which seems designed to break in the device as it's a receptacle that fits around a thin "tongue" in the device.

Honestly it seems only android guys seem to make issue with it so far. Not looking to cause an issues with anyone, but I can't remember last time I plugged in my phone and transferred data. It's all cloud these days for me. As for wireless charging I've no idea, I stick my phone on my wireless charging stand at night and it charges. That'll do for me haha. I'm super basic user of a phone, few photos, music streaming and that's about it.

15 Pro Max for me. My 12 is getting very much end of life now with the battery capacity getting to 85%.

Used a 14 Pro Max for quite some time and i have to say, i do enjoy the bigger size compared to my Standard 12. Nice little treat for myself i think :)

Truth be told, I'm mostly just poking fun. I don't have nor want an iPhone (mostly because of their vast catalogue of anti-consumer practices) so it doesn't actually affect me at all.

But also I don't see a single sensible reason for half-baking features like Apple does. Standards are there for a reason, why would you not put them in to their full capability?

Like imagine buying a sports car with a 70 litre tank and then finding out "oh yeah but we put a hole in it so if you fill it past 50 litres it just dumps the excess". Sure it'll work 'good enough', but you've just paid an arm and a leg for what's supposed to be a top-of-the-line device and you're okay with finding out it's been purposely gimped?

FWIW I do hope everyone with an iPhone, old or new, is enjoying their use.

Very tempted to go for the 15 plus or pro.... if the wife lets me!

Currently have a 12 which is still working far too well after nearly 3 years - I used to change every 24 months on the dot!

Does anyone know if you can buy one immediately in the apple store?

All the website says its available in a few months and not in stock for delivery.

If they have stock, then yes. I'll be going tonight after work. If they have it, great, if not, I'll wait.

Just bought the 13 instead from a really battered XS. Nice little upgrade, the 14/15 features and price wasn't enough for me so happy with the 13.

My very battered and short battery life XS is also likely to be replaced with a 13

I need to go to the O2 shop at the weekend to get a proper look at colours before I decide which one to get. My 2yo 13 will then go to my partner and her 4 year old 11 will be traded in or sold.
