We’re at Lords watching the cricket. Floodlights on, drizzle most of the morning… ah Summer! :D

I did see a comedian say that you can tell when it's summer in England because the rain gets a bit warmer.

Wfh today with the patio doors open looking out onto the garden with the flowers waving gently in the sunny breeze . Happy days.

(Context ... up until Feb this year we were in a one bedroom, 2nd floor flat with no outside space. whf meant sitting hunched over my laptop on a coffee table).

It's 9am and already too warm! Whilst not as hot as earlier in the summer, the 10 degree jump we are to have today will be uncomfortable!
Was like pea soup walking round the city last night sticky humid urgh! If that could go away that be grand!

Removing a network switch from a basement, was dripping as soon as I started. Thankfully only pulling the power cable out and unmounting a 1U switch, lol.

I sweat at the best of times and doing BJJ demonstrating at the front of the class with the instructor I'm like a melting lollipop.

It was the same here that night. Went for a walk around the park (1.6 miles) and was dripping at the end of it!

SE Kent has been 25-30 degrees for the past two weeks with mid morning monsoon rain.

Im about to go visit my uncle in the south of France and he says its been 35-40 degrees!!!

We have been in Uzès (near Pont du Gard) for the last fortnight. It was downright chilly even down on the Med last week thanks to the wind. The highest temperature we hit was 36C on the edge of the Cévennes on Monday. 30-34 C has been average this week.

Looks like, just in time for the Bank Holiday, at least up north the warm weather is turning cooler and wet, just in time for the last bank holiday before Christmas!

I'm going to see the European Tractor Pulling championship just up the road on Sunday. It's an epic day, but may need to wrap up this year. Last year was baking!

Well I've got the whole week off. I don't care too much about the weather. It will just be nice to be off when everyone else is running round like mad things on the last week of the holidays.

The more I look at the forecast for this long weekend the more I think I'll end up with trench foot. I'm a volunteer for Manchester Pride so got several sessions out in the rain by the looks of it, probably a good excuse to not face paint and glitter up though so my bathroom will avoid being sparkly for months to come!

Looks like the recent spell of very warm weather is breaking down with storms, as forecast:

Lightning Map - 10.09.2023.png

Lots of strikes in a tight knot in our region, but none near us.

:(

Love a good storm!

As I type this, it is easing off again, with less rain and the cluster of reported strikes drifting slowly east.

:(
