Brazilian Jiu Jitsu last night and Boxing tonight, 37.5c here. Been mostly OK, just needed regular water breaks and a cool shower afterwards. It's sleeping in the heat that's the hard part for me! No AC server room for me to hide in during the day unfortunately.

Our GJJ has been cancelled.

I used to do Muay Thai years back, the sports center where it was held had steam and sauna rooms so used to go in both and get as hot as I could stand before Muay Thai on the warmer days, made the lesson easier to bear somehow.

We just did an hour rolling 5 min rounds nogi last night, can't see anyone wanting to roll around in a gi yesterday or today :D I get what you mean with the sauna thing, once you felt the worst the rest is easy to handle. Thankfully just pad work and footwork drills tonight, no sparring! Haha.

Continuing yesterday’s theme, term finished at 2pm today so I’m home and sunning myself in the garden with this tasty beverage!

All hands on deck at the rescue at 7.30 this morning to try to get as much done as possible before it got properly hot.

We sorted out all the outdoor aviaries and cages first so that’s needed is to keep changing water for cooler water. Then we retreated indoors where most areas have air conditioning thank goodness!

It's still quite warm in our office, and it's made worse by the fan we've had to deploy in an attempt to pull hot air away from the switch rack in our cupboard - The AC packed up in there yesterday afternoon...

The temperature outside is beautifully refreshing though!

Woke up 2am and pillow was soaked, dozed off for about an hour but then awake again at around 3am, watched some Only Fools and Horses then 5am alarm sounded but then wanted to sleep

When used to be in a workshop used to take off t-shirt, run a cold tap over it then put back on again on the warm days.

Anyone else's AC units producing loads of condensation today? Have been mopping up leaks more than once today.

ACs tend to create more condensation the higher the temp gradient, one stand alone here is producing almost a litre an hour.

Never thought 28C could feel nice. So much better than yesterday’s 39C!

Our efforts with closed windows, shutters, etc kept the house temperature down to a peak of 26C yesterday which was pretty good under the circumstances. Laundry dried almost before it was pegged out. I even washed and dried our duvet yesterday!

Took my girlfriend for a chippy tea at Cleveleys last night. The intention was to go for a beach walk and look for some driftwood for her fish tank and grab a few stones for the bottom atfer food.

It was Baltic! Strong winds and a very rough sea meant we stayed in the car and ate our food in there. I knew I shouldn't have gone out in shorts, t-shirt and sandels :D

Still, the kite surfers who were out were having a great time and they could certainly grab some air out there!
