I also had infant asthma, and have other issues that I believe would have put me in category 6, but didn't receive any offer, GP wouldn't even take a call, and NHS just tell you to contact your GP!

I was going to get my booster last Thursday but moved it to this week early last week when both my Wife and 8 Year old son tested positive last weekend. Then I tested positive last Thursday so I have to delay it again now. I think they say 28 days after a positive result. When I went to cancel it online I had to wait in an online queue o well.

 

BTW the covid cough i have now really sucks big time.

Some international border restrictions have been lifted. I can now renter Australia should I want / need to leave.

 

I don’t have any great desire to go anywhere but it does make me feel better than I have the choice.

The funny thing is both Kids are fine really the oldest only lost his smell for a few days and my youngest just has a runny nose for two days. They have both been bouncing off the walls with energy too and lucky we have a back garden for them to burn some energy off. My wife just lost her smell and taste which made us take the first PCR test together in the first place.

 

Then I am the one who suffering the most (this could be because my second jab was way back in April and my wife's was August) o well and the wife has no pitty on me either as I am a man

 

O well I will get over it and there is always people who have suffered a lot more than me.

 

I am going to take the anti gen test too just to see

Anyone know how to cancel a home PCR test after it's been ordered? NHS website says you cancel PCR test, but I think it means when they are for drive/walk through types. I've searched hard without success. I tried 119 but that experience warrants an annoying thing post!

Given how quickly they’re dispatched, it probably isn’t an option. It will arrive tomorrow. It’s easier just to do the thing

I've come to the same conclusion. Misread on my part, but I thought postal was the only option, but on a re-read that's all to do with travel day 2 testers. For +ve test son, Mrs Ditto took him to drive through to try to get the earliest possible confirmation to set the 10 day clock running. So we might have to bin that one. We are right up against it for the Tim Peake event in 11 days time! We have a family interest. For those that have read his latest book, and it is a great read, but SiL is the person he wrote about falling off the icewall climb in Alaska as part of Operation Raleigh so would have loved to have a chat and maybe get a personally signed copy of the book. This *&^£"!£ virus has **%%^£%$£ed up so much, but in truth we are all vaccinated and many others have suffered so much more so we count a few blessings. As an aside, I will also be getting a anti-bodies test and have been invited on to a feedback panel. I hope I can give some useful input as part of the process today, both my wife and I followed the logic and got a 'You don't qualify for a PCR test'. The key wording is they refer to a 'Follow up PCR test'. They don't mean a follow up test to a PCR test, they mean a follow up test following a +ve LFT - it wasn't really clear. It's one of those classic UX's where with prior knowledge, it impacts the work flow logic. I'm hoping with some of my IT design experience, I can advise subtle wording changes and emphasis changes from a position of relative naivety, a.k.a. general public going through this process first time! None of which will appease, Mrs Ditto who had to cancel a James concert hours before heading off to the Midlands to meet up with some long-time friends! Got a letter from my Dentist today

 

very nice letter saying that they hoped I hd been OK through the last 2 years and apologising for not being able to function normally for all of that time

 

But now they are able, within limits, to start to get back to offering a normal service

 

and - 'our records show that you are due for an annual check up'

 

Really - well who would have thunk eh!!!

Went to Argo this morning and the number of masks was higher than has been normal recently

Nope. IF (and looks like a big if) we go away as soon as we break up, we have to pay for private {insert politics here} PCRs on return.

I have been making Face Masks since spring 2020 and selling them to raise funds for the wildlife rescue where I volunteer.

 

Yesterday I sold my 1000th mask and I’d raised £4500.71 for the rescue.

 

Today it’s gone mad! Demand has outstripped supply.

Mr gee40 and I had our booster jabs today (Moderna)

 

My arm’s a little achey but otherwise OK

We now have 15% of our Year 7s and 6% of our Year 8s out. Year 7 make up 50% of all our cases as of today.

 

None of the other year groups are above 2% and we had about a 72% uptake of jabs when they came to visit. Which shows the power of even a single jab, really. The youngest year groups with zero (due to the law) and the smallest uptake have got considerably higher numbers out.

I hear via local contacts that my governance primary school is rife with cases. My MSOA is currently top 0.05% in the cases per 100k! My year 10 is off having tested positive last week. Currently, I (3 jabs), OH (1 jab) and Year 8 son (1 jab) are testing negative. Without the vaccines, it would look very, horribly, different.
