I would hope that they (our Government) do the same as they have done in Australia in regard to social media where if you check not everyone is asked for their age Social media 'ban' or delay FAQ | eSafety Commissioner also having a friend who lives their none of his family have been asked for age checks and only one person he knows has been asked and that was a minor who was 14.

It depends on what they are using it for doesn't it really. The use of VPNs isn't the bad thing it's what it is being used to achieve.

Yes, that's correct also they would not be able to tell the different traffic being generated by a minor to an adult due to how NAT works? The only way to reduce VPN usage is to put the onus on the VPN providers like Australia has done for social media. Yes, it will not be perfect some will find way around this by spinning up their own servers etc but it going to reduce the usage of VPNs by children by a number greater than 0 which is a good thing is it not.

We have just found ourselves with this issue our Music department has just reported tthat they cannot open Logic 12, I have blocked the update now but Ia ma sure about half of our macs are now on it We don't get this screen I am guessing it because I have the App store block in Mosyle, for us we just get a quit option. I am going to take a look and see if I can get this screen to appear.

Sorry I can't be of much help, but I started looking at them and setting them up over half term but never got round to testing them (ran out of time) therefore I was going to wait for the summer holidays maybe glad I did if there are issues. Their support is a bit shall I say nicely poor at times it can sometimes be because you are dealing with an agent in the states and therefore in a different timezone. They did use to have a team in the UK but I don't know any more if they do or not

I have also found this to be true, it seems like tickets are being handled by US support so you don't get a reply till after we finish for the day which means it can take a few days of going back and forward.

Sheridan How I did the move over the summer was: I had all members of a group assigned an A1 Plus plan, so I just removed this licence first from the group waited a few mins and then added the A3 licence to that group. I did hold my breath, but it worked fine no one lost access to anything.

When we moved from A1 Plus to A3 we have to get enough licences to cover anyone that needed to use the desktop apps even if they were part time. We also purchased a few extra A3 licenses to cover temp accounts etc that may come along so we do have a few A3 licenses unassigned.

I am watching this thread with interest as our Head of Computer Science has put in a ticket about this just yesterday.

We are slowly moving over to OneDrive and Teams\SharePoint, we are taking a drip drip approach where we are moving slowing but making sure that everyone is happy and onboard with the process and have not run into any major show stoppers as of yet.

We only have just over 700 users in total and we have set it to use 5 digits for pins. I think you can increate the pin longer if you wish too.

We had the same issue just before Easter Alerts going to our DSL and a DDSL. We have a lot (and I mean a lot ) of used compatible HP toners not originals. Does anyone know of a company that takes compatibles for Recycling etc. We have looked around and find lots who will take originals just not compatibles. Any help would bee apricated.

Its not who its really aimed at it more of what can be sold as a domain and they must think that that TLD will be used. It might sound strange but take a listen to the Waveform podcast (MKBHD) it goes into the reason TLD exist and why plus a great story about pizza.pizza.

This is what we do here too. What you describe is by design if I remember correctly. On a Chromebook when you log in as an user your profile on that Chromebook is encrypted with your password this is so you can log in locally if its has not online connection. Now when you change your google password the next time you log in it has to decrypt (you have to supply your old password) and then re-encrypt with your new password. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

With storing password you always have to think of your threat model really. When people say don't store them in your browser etc because if some one has access to your computer/device then its not safe (This can also apply to password mangers too). When someone has access to your computer you have a lot more to worry about other than access your password passwords, depending on if its physical person or malware/remote access trojan etc. As long as you have unique complex passwords of length then this just stops others from accessing your online services with credential reuse for example. I know the password system in Chrome creates unique passwords and saves them to your google account Password managers just make it easy to create different unique passwords (and username/email addressees) and they have the ability to share these with a team. Yes they are safe but again if someone has access to your computer it could be game over. So you need to decide who needs access to the accounts if its multiple people then use a password manager if its only you then a browser may be fine. You could also think storing them on paper in a safe would be best (its off line and only the people with the key have access and no one can remote access the safe can they.) You always have to think what is your threat model and how best to mitigate this. Also on a personal note you need to make sure family can access your passwords etc if something happens to you. I hope I am making some sense here and not gone down some rabbit hole.

I use NextDNS on my personal and home devices. At the school we just block ads via our LightSpeed web filter.
