I'd say 3 - but the one in the picture does seem a bit uncooked on the bottom bit - other than that

3 is just fine

4 is OK

1 is basically still in the packet

6 has so much graphite it could be used for writing

4 for me, has anyone read the article on the bbc good food website about how bacon can be bad for you if not eaten in moderation? Made me pretty upset, I love bacon. Clicky

Surely not news?

This made me laugh from the above article:

What are your top tips to cut down on bacon?

  1. Swap bacon for lentils, chickpeas, kidney beans, peas, butter beans, baked beans or haricot beans.

  2. Try bacon alternatives such as turkey, tofu or tempeh rashers.

WTF??? No-one would say to someone who wanted to try something different to lentils, chickpeas, kidney beans, peas, butter beans, baked beans or haricot beans that bacon might be a good shout!

The only vaguely sensible replacement would be the turkey rashers (not tried tempah, but tofu is not even close). I have tried Facon (Quorn do a "veggie bacon, as do most supermarkets) and it's tolerable but hasn't got the texture.

Well for a start that is not bacon that's just fat and the fact that Americans consider that bacon annoys me every time I go there!

This is bacon!

I could see them being used in a dish in place of bacon lardons...
