Can't see beyond the usual suspects, Its excellent experience for the relatively young England team.

I'd imagine them getting out the group stages and with a bit of luck get to the QF, but as there isn't much expectation of them winning it will help them just enjoy the tournament.

Portugal v Brazil

Spain v Germany for the SF's after that who knows

As for England, doesn't matter how/what they do, they have a nightmare QF draw that I can't see them getting past

Well my prediction is out of date now. Spain, who I backed to win after being dominant in European football lately, have just sacked their head coach two days before their first match.

Germany I guess? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44455057#results=4,1,5,7,9,10,13,15,17,19,21,23,25,28,29,32,4,9,5,13,17,25,21,28,9,25,13,21,25,21,21

That's a big mistake, mostly on his part. At least Van Gaal wouldn't confirm he was becoming the Man Utd manager during the last world cup.

I ended up with Germany v Brazil in the final with Uruguay and Portugal making up the other Semi-finalists. Re Spain, unless he was contracted to the national team beyond the end of the tournament I don't see the problem.

Either he figured it is so close to the start of the tournament that Spain wouldn't dare to sack him or something really toxic is going on at the Spanish FA and he just didn't care if they did.

England vs South Korea final, Harry Kane to score the first ever World Cup Final double hat-trick. It has to be that - I saw it in a dream last night (yes, I had spent all night drinking vodka and eating "special" mushrooms but that's got nothing to do with it...) :-P

I think we'll get to teh semis and then get knocked out after a last minute goal.

Right - we won a game

so now it is clear that England will go on and win the whole thing

unless of course the whole squad is not taken to hospital with broken ribs due the the new tackling style

Honestly - some of them would result in a penalty if it was the 6 Nations!
