Thanks for the heads up! The related/linked article on slow logons looks like it may be a problem i'm experiencing here.

Just upgraded our only server 2000 to server 2003. Left it this long because it is the server than runs the Sophos central installations. After reading your post i upgraded it and all is well.

Cheers

Sophos breaks for us about once a week! It gobbles up RAM by the GB! It ate 2.5GB of ram last week! So we are getting fed up with it. Sophos support are running out of ideas, and so are we. Here we come Symantec

I think sophos is no good in my opinion. It takes up so much resources on the computer it stops some of our workstations from upgrading SIMS.

I'm trying to work out why that is a bad thing ...

lol :)

Have you tried putting the appropriate exclusions in Sophos? It doesn't stop the upgrades here - but is can sure slow them down without.

Andy.

PS. Give us a shout if you don't know what they are and I'll dig them out.

Well, ive got sophos running beautifully here (v5 that is), not sure how or why but it works and only costs £100 a year or something close to that figure :D

I've just paid about £4K for the renewal on ours. Thats over 5 years and 400 PC's. It does break down and work out quite cheap for peace of mind.

It also covers me for 17 servers or something silly.
