Does anyone know how to lock Finder down so they can't browse the network or see any PC's? We have just had a MAC server put in and we are experiencing this problem from our iMac's

Which DHCP option needs configuring? How do we rerun the RIS setup? THe server which has been demoted is going to be flattedn and reconfiigured, we intend to put RIS back on it but until we get chance to do this then we need to get RIS working.

We had a old DC that did DNS, DHCP and RIS. We have installed a new DC and put DHCP and DNS on that but left RIS onthe old DC which has now been demoted after having the FSMO roles moved. Simce we have done this RIS does no longer get a DHCP lease when we do a netork boot. DHCP is working fine on th new server has the workstations and laptops onthe network all log on fine and if we do a ipconfig /all it shows the correct detaisl for DNS and DHCP. We have no idea why RIS does not now pick up a DHCP lease to boot. Does anyone ahve any ideas?

Did you do a ful install of Office 2007 (ie run all from my computer?) Try re-installing office 2007

We use QC supplies as well. Good prices and all originals. We were paying more for compatibles than some of their original prices.

I have installed it as well and never had any issues, it works fine for us. I remember having a problem when i first tried to install it but I've forgot what it was.

Do you already have Word 2007 open? If so try running the report with it closed and let the report open it. I have read about this somewhere else but can't remember where. I think it was the document server upload, it will only allow one instance of word 2007 to be open Will check when at work for my notes on it.

Dont these groups get over written when there is a SIMS upgrade?

Ihave a batch of Stone Computers which are Core 2 Duo CPU. I have created and image for these from scratch XP SP3 and installed the relevant software. I sen the image back across and when i pull it back down it appears to come over but on reboot the pc just sits at the windows screen. I have tried several times but with no luck. I know someone who has also had the problem with their Core 2 Duo laptops as well. Now i have some Toshiba Core 2 Duo laptops and i add the storage drives in the sif file and all is well but if i try this on the Stone PC's its still no good. Its not an obscure Mobo its Intel. Could anyone shed any light on this or if i need to do anything special when imaging Core 2 Duo PC's

Bugger, I have just paid £25 for the CD It failed to deploy first time but could be just me.

We are thinking of upgrading our phone system (no extensions left) to a VOIP phone system. But our business manager is raising the point that with BSF round the corner for u (supposedly next April) that we should wait for them. Does any one know if BSF stretches as far as covering a VOIP phone system or is it something that will have to be installed out of th school budget?

I need to put a Plasma screen in a PE suite. They want to be able to link a laptop to it as well as a DVD player. Also they plan to use the free view as well. It needs to be fitted to the wall and the cables run into a cupboard behind the wall which is where the DVD player and laptop will be kept. I'd also need to put speakers onto he wall that output from the Plasma maybe attached to a amp like the Promethean boards use. Can anyone recommend a set up or more importantly recommend a company int the midlands that do this sort of thing.

I need a script that will add a user 'Training' with a password of 'Course' and make the user a local administrator for some training sessions being put n next week. I need to run this script on a OU so that all the machines in one room get this account.. After the course is finished all PCs will be re-imaged and put solely back on the network. Anyone got a script that can do this?

I use the GPO option as well. took bit of tweaking to get set up but once it is there is no problems and much more secure that making the users power users

I installed Real 11 on a laptop image around November time. Over the last couple of weeks i have had staff coming to me to tell me that Real Player no longer works and comes up with a window telling them it is out of date and a newer version needs installing. I have had a look at tone myself and it is true but when you click on the window to do the update it fails. IS there a way to deploy Real to all the laptops via GPO so i can avoid this problem?

I have a Epson R300 printer. I have not done any printing since i installed the new Photoshop CS3. Now if i print the colours do not match whats on screen. They appear fine on my PC but when print them they are much darker than they should be and the colour is poor. I have brand new Epson original carts installed so i know its not compatible ink problems. Any Ideas? It worked fine before i installed the new PS CS3
