So I'm still going to need a single mode SFP in my equipment and not the usual multimode we use internally?

I don't believe it! I was so focussed on that stray lead and the angle I was looking at it from at the top of the 42U rack (should have studied my own picture better!) I didn't even see the other SFP properly and it is indeed the usual two wire connector!

The main issue is the connectivity from this equipment, its that single fibre cable and not the usual pair, we are all used to working with. So far it has been suggested there should be a modem on the end of this like a domestic setup and also one of my suppliers is questioning getting this type of single fibre connection into our equipment.

Thank you for confirming that, I thought there was definitely a missing piece as I couldn't get much information on a possible solution.

Hopefully we will have our new internet connection in place soon, various geographical problems with there being no fibre in the area and the school being on the other side of a railway track to the rest of the town, plus major building works on two sides of the school... Anyway we have most of the infrastructure in-place and are just waiting for some work on the other side. The solution is some sort of ethernet fibre, from the exchange. In our cabinet we have the Open Reach equipment, powered on and ready to go. The end point is a single mode fibre like you get at home (single plug, except at home it would go into another little box) I am being told that I will need to get this into our equipment somehow. We have a HP Procurve 5406zl core and Aruba switches mostly. I am struggling to find an SFP for our equipment or some sort of media convertor. Does anyone have a similar setup and can suggest equipment etc or are we missing a piece of the puzzle here?

I have just installed 2022 on one server and had to run winver to check I hadn't used the 2019 image by mistake from my first look at it.

I used to play a lot of TFC way back, I loved being a conc jumping medic. We went on to play TF2 when it first came out but moved on to other things eventually, great game though.

If I remember correctly, this has to be done per user the same way as you did it.

1) The APs occupy an additional IP address in the guest range as well as their main management IP so I'm not sure if I can do this. 2) Probably going to be the answer for now at least 3) This was the kind of solution I was hoping for Thanks for all the suggestions.

I have the guest portal working fine with codes with our Unifi setup, it is in its own VLAN with up to 62 addresses. The APs all take an address leaving about 25 addresses for clients. This is a rarely used thing, but the issue is the hundreds of phones in the building join the open network that the portal is on and just sit there taking up an IP address and therefore a legitimate user is unable to even get to the portal page . Now I only have so many IP addresses to play with in order for the filter to be able to identify traffic from clients by the county assigned ranges, otherwise I would give it a much larger private IP range. What am I missing here, the lease duration is already set to a short time which only really helps between days. Is there a setting on the Unifi controller or something I can do with IAS/Radius and the DHCP server to temporarily ban from the DHCP server unless authorised etc or a much simpler solution? Thank you everyone, I have stuck that rule in for now and I will have a look at the things you have highlighted chaplic.

We increasingly have a few users, sometimes random emails going straight to spam. This is just simple messages from one user to the other on the same tenant. What is the best way to to try and stop this, some sort of mail flow rule or another setting?

It was just shy of £9 per user at full price with 2TB storage each. I pay a chunk for Dropbox so moving my storage across only means I will be paying a bit more a month. There is a £4 per user per month option with 30gb rather than the standard 15gb but I'm not sure about a deal on that, it might have said you can have it free until July or something. If you go to your console and look at upgrading your subscription it will give you all the info before you commit. I looked at the MS offering but I wanted more storage and I have a lot of stuff tied to my google accounts now, so eventually not cheap less hassle for me, for now.

I just opted for the business standard (3 users) account for Google as I will be ditching my Dropbox storage I Pay for so in the end I will only be paying a bit more. Once I started the process it informed me it was free until September, half price for a full year after that, then resumes the normal price.

We are looking to update our backbone links as some are older fibre runs and others are going to have a building attached to where they run on the outside wall! I will be looking for someone to run the fibre or potentially just terminate it, because some of the runs are a nightmare of disjointed buildings. I'm done with running outside too far it never holds up well over time.

13 is mentioned as they are usually the age limits on social media etc. Model documents for policies also can state that at 12 and above children are generally capable of understanding consenting to the processing of their data in other ways but this can also be reviewed on a case by case basis. A minefield for sure.

I have an Ikea Markus at work for a long time now, used to have one at home and it was great when my back was playing up. I have some Secret Labs chairs at home which I use in one room to watch TV as well, took a while to get used to how firm they are but once you do it is much better for you.

I have imported them via our private store without many issues. There were some entries on the list that did not have a hash or something else written in there, but for the most part they were fine.

Make sure you have followed the promotion routine for the curriculum in Nova (the tick and smiley face thing) and that your classes are named slightly different eg prefixed with an extra letter usually. Then get ready for all the staff asking were all the mark sheets have gone

I've also used timetabler for the last 5-6 years, I couldn't imagine trying to schedule it in something like Nova 6.

VOIP systems can have special options in DHCP as well to tag certain things or even redirect the DHCP to the phone system so this is something to look out for.

I would open up the file and try different sections on their own to find the syntax error. The file is usually just full of netsh commands.

We use School Synergy - A Complete School System with SIMS. Doesn't do reports (yet) but we use it for registers/behaviour/Homework/Messaging/SEN/Parent Portal. They are currently working on adding assessment and an app. For custom dashboards you can access the data in something like Power BI but this is limited at the moment but certainly all behaviour, attendance etc only bugbear is Power BI licensing for wide spread use! It's been a very welcome relief to off load most of what the teachers do to this and not rely on the main SIMS client anymore.

Check the reporting service bit is correct as well, I think this is something I have had to fix before on this sort of installation.
