  1. We have a college asking about if we had any SEN provision for an ex pupil who is due to start with them. Where do we stand with this, would we need consent from the ex pupil to share this information given it is an adult college course and not a normal school age scenario where we would be covered by something like public task?
  2. It will be mostly for staff on their dedicated PC and yes it does appear in Explorer but soon as you click on it, it will say it is restricted. I am trying to phase out our encrypted USB drives that some staff use and although you can get to everything through the office apps, they will want to access it through explorer as well for general management. I am relying on the fact that the "On Demand" feature will work as expected. The other issue I have is that the normal in built OneDrive (Win 10 EDU 1803) does not appear at all for anyone but admin and only the OneDrive for Business appears. I am troubleshooting this now as it is probably related to the removal of user apps before sysprep fix that I had to apply, just to get a new image captured!
  3. With the OneDrive path you seem to be stuck with a local drive path like C:\Users\username. Now like most I am restricting C: drive access, how do others have this setup as you can't specify a network drive or UNC path (without 3rd party help). I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible to begin with, with files on demand and possibly having a profile clean out every week if needed for computers used by multiple users. Any tips greatly appreciated.
  4. Well after trying to fix this on and off for months, chasing "USB Issues" from patches etc, it turned out that because were using an "N" version of Windows 10, something was missing on the media side to allow certain cameras to just work. I have reverted to the full Media Player bloat version for now.
  5. You only need to set a few policies under the Bitlocker section in the GPO, just be aware though you are best getting staff drives encrypted first as it can take a considerable amount of time in some cases and they are likely to get bored and pull it out before its finished if you force it on them and expect them to go through the process. You can also set it to be read only for unencrypted removable storage which allows them to get things off but not save them which encourages them to get it encrypted. You also have to consider cameras and other items that will be treated as removable storage.
  6. Thank you for the replies, it does show up in device manager and I have done the usual remove and reinstall etc. This morning I tried it on a fresh copy of 1803 as I was hoping this issue would go away but alas the same issue.
  7. We have noticed that the storage no longer mounts from our Canon EOS 1200d cameras on 1709 and 1803 (when direct plugged USB lead). It works fine in 1703 but in later versions it says installing the camera then nothing. Normal USB drives etc work properly, there is no mode or anything to switch on the camera and there are no drivers to download. Also this doesn't as admin or anything. Anyone had similar issues at all? I don't really want to buy media readers for all the PCs if I can help it.
  8. Some kind of corruption? Try scandisking the the effected areas.
  9. Did you validate the file after editing? I had some trouble with stuff like this after certain edits and sure enough I had made the file invalid
  10. We just requested the options online first and got that running. Assuming you have the parent app already running it should be just a matter of requesting it. Just be aware the email could have gone to the head or the "main" school email that capita have listed. I ended up phoning them up and they told me where the email had gone to and that it had expired, so they resent it. When we requested the lite parent app we didn't seem to get a reply but it popped up on the console after a week or so.
  11. Can you not just use SSH and SCP or something with an easy client like Bitvise Tunnelier?
  12. Yes one box will work in port 9 or 10 but the other will not work in any of the 4 ports even when plugged in on its own. The support for this is a bit of a minefield for various reasons but I just wanted to check it wasn't something simple before we got charged for it.
  13. Okay I had a play this morning with the monitor on and managed to decipher some of the output, it mostly spams this: 159587mS ISDNL1Evt: v=3 peb=3,F6 F8 The F6 and F8 indicate it is synchronised but lost framing. Does this sound like a line fault or an issue communicating with the IPO?
  14. The green light on the other box is a slow flashing like the other when unplugged, but when you plug into it, it is rapid flashing.
  15. Okay here's a question, if both boxes are working, should I be able to get a connection from either with the same cable? I would assume the Avaya config should not affect this?
  16. Thanks for all the replies, yes 9-12 should be the ISDN ports, currently I can plug into 9 or 10 (Not both)on the Avaya to get 2 phone lines, if I try anymore cables it stops working. I had a quick look at the cable and assumes it was just a normal patch lead??? I will check again tomorrow morning when I can get away with unplugging it.
  17. We've had the phone line moved and the ISDN lines have been moved as well, we have an ancient Avaya IP500 system which only runs IP phones now. We have got rid of the old digital phones so there is now minimal connections needed to the unit (ISDN and Network). Now the plan was that I would check the cabling of the ISDN boxes at the back of the cabinet but when I tried to get in there the builders were cutting a channel in the floor, the next time I got there the BT engineer was already in there and had disconnected them . The BT Engineer couldn't test the line properly without it being connected to the equipment, which was still in the old location until today. Anyway I have moved the Avaya IP500 and have it connected to one port on the IP500 giving me 2 lines (blue lead). I have no idea if I need more connection from the ISDN boxes to the IP500 or not, I have tried every combination I can think of but it's not happy with anymore connections to and from the boxes. Can anyone point me in the right direction here please?
  18. Thanks that sort of works but will be too confusing for staff, I thought this would be straight forward!
  19. Had a few complaints recently about emails being forwarded to people but they have no way of knowing the address from which the email came as it has been converted to a display name, is there anyway to stop this behaviour? I can't seem to find the relevant terminology to get a relevant search result:
  20. I once found a mouse once with its teeth still round the power cable that killed it, there was a bad smell in that room about a month before and we couldn't find the source at the time and forgot about it until I went to fix this computer that eventually went faulty.
  21. I just had a look and we don't have InTouch and the only option is internal messaging.
  22. I think I know what your issue is, one of the pools gets overloaded in IIS and you need to increase a setting somewhere, I will try and find the fix for you. Edit: This one: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/the_secure_infrastructure_guy/2015/09/02/windows-server-2012-r2-wsus-issue-clients-cause-the-wsus-app-pool-to-become-unresponsive-with-http-503/
  23. Again then it looks like the clients aren't actually looking towards your SCCM (WSUS in the background) for updates assuming correct updates and architecture. I would have a look in the client windows update log to see where they are trying to contact. I have nearly everything running smoothly apart from AV updates to Windows 10, that just doesn't want to work for me.
  24. I meant under software updates it shows all the computers that require an update, this will show all computers that need it that fall under the scope of you CM and not just the ones you have deployed it to:
  25. When your look at the actual updates do they show as required for computers? You can also use some of the compliance reports to let you know more detail about what computers need what update etc. Apart from that you need to delve into the client logs.
