Hi all Just wondering if anyone has ever come across or dealt with this one... We had our Shadow Copy Volume go splat... the setup is that the Data drive E, has the shadow copies targeted to drive F (specifically for the purpose). F went blank as part of some other "fun", and I have a snapshot of the machine (its a vm) from prior to this point, but as its a file store for user data, its not something I can leave off or restore to that snapshot (as the normal drive has had data to it since and so on) so what I tried was to remove the drive, and take a copy from the snapshot clone off the SAN. Alas, due to various reasons and sizes, it took pretty much 24 hrs to copy from place to place. Hooked it back up again and in windows, once I turned the disk "online" in disk management again, it auto had the correct drive letter and label etc, and had the amount of data i was expecting.... great i thought. However, had a look in Configure Shadow Copies... on the data drive, and while it was still selecting the F drive, it doesnt think there are any copies in there alas. As you can do all that with the machine up, i thought oh maybe it needs to reboot to re-see the copies there, but alas, after rebooting, it had wiped the drive clean again lol I dont want to keep this function off while messing around with this, so just wondering if anyone has had any joy / knowledge of this sort of situation and knows whether or not its possible. I expect one way it would work is having the vm off throughout, not having the vm hooked into vsphere while copying, and not actually removing the shadow drive [F] so that it doesnt loose its association in some way, but if thats the case, may have to just accept the shadow copies are gone and get it turned back on again. Open to any brief thoughts before just starting again with shadow copies from fresh at some point tomorrow. Cheers.

I'm on Aurora Glade, not Desolation (thought i'd updated this but i guess not). I've been adding contacts using their username.number ID, as didn't think you can add ppl any other way as such (for info, when they switch character, you'll still see them as its account friendededed ). You can party up regardless of the World, at least chat-wise and the party is persistent when logging out/in too that i can see, and i even got party messages when i logged back in Also, I think you can party together for questing/adventuring within Overflow should you not be on the same servers Though initial server move is free [at least, it was when i looked at it] Little handy shortcut is Backspace for replying to the last /whisper you had Thats about all i can think of, other than such a delicious game really EDIT: Curses.... hadnt seen CAM's posts lol i didnt refresh before posting it seems hehe

Darn it.... i was awake then too.... didnt think to try before bed lol Desolation here i come EDIT: It was full.... Aurora Glade I'm on

@Rawns: You'll be looking forward to this then ;) Bought Red Orchestra 2: Heroes Of Stalingrad when it on special offer on Steam for about £5 (i got the deluxe version for £7.49 i think). Played it off and on for a week but really really hardcore online, though really refreshing game i felt from its engine and general atmos of things. Will fire it up again sometime i think

Pre-purchased this the other month and played the last beta weekend. Enjoyed what i saw, though hope it hooks me better than GW1 did (think other things stopped my more than the game did hehe) Dont recall what server i'm on, but happy to team up with folks

Updating initial post.... previous post was: -------- Exchange 2010 SP1 / 2007 SP3 Update Rollup 3 is out now. Here's the initial blog announcement on it: You Had Me At EHLO... : Released: Update Rollup 3 for Exchange 2010 SP1 and Exchange 2007 SP3 IMPORTANT INFORMATION: (updated: 1st April 2011) - Exchange 2007 SP3: If you are running Exchange 2007 SP3 RU3 v1, see the following post: Potential for database corruption as a result of installing Exchange 2007 SP3 RU3 - Exchange Team Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs (btw... I believe you can install over the top of the v1 release of RU3) If you are wanting to install RU3 now, here's a link to the released version (v2): Download details: Update Rollup 3-v2 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 (KB2530488) and see the previous link for info - Exchange 2010 SP1: If you are running Exchange 2010 SP1 RU3 or looking to update to RU3, see the following link: Exchange 2007/2010 Rollup 3 Status Update - Exchange Team Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs Not as severe I think, but there is the Blackberry issue outlined, along with another issue (although "there is no risk of to customer data" the blog post does state) ---------

Its back on right now in the UK (in the past hour as of this post time/date stamp)... I've just reset my password on the PS3 and signed in with no probs It's country specific too btw, and as far as i know, US, Canada, Auz, NZ, and Germany are back up also. Note: The store isnt up though bear in mind, only the PSN gaming, friends list and media streaming services etc Enjoy y'all.
-
It wont work CAM - whether u had the beta client, media or not You'd need to buy the game to get a key (or get one from a "friend" who has the game - may only be the Collectors Edition which contained the 30 day pass for a friend additional code.... which is what I bought, so dont really know about the normal version. The std release is probably pretty cheap by now already [i'm guessing.... i havent the energy to look hehe] @jlucas: what World/Server r ya on? Incidentally, I played the RIFT beta and while i only had it for a v short time before the game released, it was alright, but was very much a grind fest too i found....well, tons of little quests of kill x amount of y monsters, repeat and rinse.... the Rift's themselves were cool though, but thats as much as i got to see tbh. Didnt really see anything that hadnt been done before really but had a nice blast on that beta i guess With the exception of the Rift's part of Rift, it reminded me of less polished version of Guild Wars (and other similar MMO's), especially S.U.N. in particular, although the character leveling was pretty cool Cheers

What about the disc? install it again? lol I dare say it'll be free for at least another few months - until they've reworked it and get the feedback telling them its actually good, and matches up to what everyone wants i guess
-
yeah, i have no real probs with the laggy interface - at least, none that i can think of offhand, and there is "more" content with the addition of side quests and such. Theres more to come along with whatever they are planning to rework the battle system (and a bunch of other stuff). I'm certainly enjoying it again at least (enough to play for a week solid last week while being off work) I cant say for the crafting, but to get to Rank 15 on any of the Battle jobs, will take about 2hrs (well, not as long as it did at any rate from starting fresh IMO)
-
hehe ahh that was my guess i had in my head Gotta say if i'd just solo'd all the way to R50 just to play the Storyline, i'd have quit completely a long time ago some of the story sequences have been pretty lacklustre tbh....not quite the calibre I expect from a FF storyline thats for sure... quite the "fail" on their behalf though I did enjoy the R46 i did the other night If only they were all more like that
-
Unless we are getting confused here, i dont see how you completed it in 36 hrs tbh lol But i dont disagree with the latter of what you said.... "full of rank jockeys, or loot raiders".... it certainly is, but isnt that what most MMORPG's are full of? I'm just happy its still free each month still I'm not sure where you traded it, but they were obviously clueless in taking a second hand copy of a online only game hehe ;) Still, its not the best thing (especially not when it released), but now at least, its certainly a ton better than it was.... i just hope they keep rolling in the decent changes

Hi all Just wondering if anyone is actually playing the love it, hate it beast that is FF XIV? Meant to do this ages ago so here goes: - World: Besaid - Starting City: Ul'dah - Char Name: Tarquelius Farqua - Play(ed) FF XI? Yes, Lakshumi world - Tarquel - RDM 69 [and I forget the rest but lvl'd WHM / BLM to about 40 and SMN to about 30] - Current Jobs / Ranks: THM50 / CON50 / ARC24 / and a few others. If you're interested, i'm still playing it fairly regularly and would welcome more lovely people to join me EDIT: Have created and fought hard but initially failed to keep a population of EU players in my own Linkshell, but started again and the numbers are growing again. If you want to switch world, at least it doesnt cost anything really And at the current state, its pretty easy to get to a faily decent lvl quite quickly (I got my Archer to Rank15 in less than 2 hrs - probably could have done it in even less duo'ing & running Behest's) Give me a PM on here or a /tell in game if you're in Besaid, or hell, if you want to switch to join us Also, rolecall yourself here too if you are playing.... the official forums is just depressing to read through the moans and gripes continuously hehe Cheers

I'm thinking, and bearing in mind, i dont know much about all the settings of switches and VLANs etc, but presumably the VLAN's are setup in the switches etc., and presumably, you'd have to allow the broadcast to be allowed between these two VLAN's right? is that somehow not been allowed or something? afraid i dont do alot of comms at our place, but pretty sure i could find out for you.... what switches are you using? Cisco? are all the switches layer 2 / 3 ? or just the core ones? etc Cheers

Did u install the OS using a SCCM OSD TS? I'm thinking if you did, it will have created a computer resource of it in SCCM, which you cud then use to place in a seperate Collection and then advertise a PXE Bootable "Capture Image" Task Sequence, which you can then use as a reference image I've got one OSD TS that "creates and captures" the reference image i.e. it installs the OS, applications, a few tweaks etc, and then captures it - all in one TS. Then with that captured wim, its used in a OSD Deploy TS where the TS joins the computer your deploying to the domain along with driver specific models etc. (P.S. the capture location + file name is set to the same location + file name of the wim used as the source wim for the deployment OSD TS - just needs a Distribution Point "update" after its been captured ) I know thats not quite what ur asking, but hopefully theres a few ideas for ya there Oh, another one, possibly if you use the Import Computer Information (under Operating System Deployment > Computer Association), put in the MAC and computername in there, and once its appeared in SCCM, you should be able to add that to a collection, then make and advertise a PXE bootable Capture TS to that collection to capture it (at least, thats the logic in my head hehe) Let us know how that goes or if any of that helps

4.0 here with EQL SAN SATA "SUMO" soon to update to 4.1, with new hosts replacing the existing hosts (R810's in place of R710's) and have some more EQL SAN's in the EQL cluster of the site :D [note: not upgrading the above due to Exch performance - as that has been great from the virtually empty SAN to the very very full san / vSphere infrastructure - its just we have ALOT more on this particular setup besides Exchange 2010 ]
-
I wasnt disputing it.... aka what i said "All this and having the dumpster...." I was merely (in a rushed form perhaps) celebrating the fact that Exch 2010 certainly gives you pretty much as much scope and varied options to cater for pretty much all eventualities Some of that isnt quite that accurate IMO. Havent the time to go into why at the moment but I think they wrote much of the virtualization part / Hypervisor part with either only Hyper-V / older non-MS Hypervisors in mind, and/or SAN level LUN/Vol snapshots ;) Dealling with the aftermath of a site wide network outage so you'll forgive my lack of details here

Finally replied to ya PM Thought I had already replied in some way but i guess not. Wrote a huge one, and then for no reason i can see (seeing as i didnt actually touch anything) the browser refreshed and i lost me "not so quick" Quick Reply hehe So many different ways u can keep the data safe in Exchange 2010 natively that it wont be a problem, minus some huge meteor type disaster like you say, but then, i think the data wont matter a jot if something like that happened DAG with Passive copies is awesome btw... ...and yes, quite true (tho ESXi-level HA has no bearing on Exchange Sukh - i,e. there are no multiple copies of VM's or anything like that if thats what you were wondering that would definately not be supported by MS indeed )...and yes, like Sukh said, you can also make a lagged copy mailbox server which would be ideal if the SAN exploded for example or killed all the data on your iSCSI LUN's hooked into your exchange VM's. So ideal idea there would be a physical server with JBOD, and setup as a lagged MBX, or even a member of the DAG that only stores the passive copies. All this and having the dumpster and deleted items / mailbox retentions (at the db lvl) sorted, you've pretty much got it all covered Nath
-
Works for us.... until someone turns off the KMS VM and doesnt point it out to me
-
in simple terms, its the unattended file that can be used to automate an install of Vista / 7. Edit it in notepad if you want, or you can use WAIK to edit it. You can use it in a OS Deployment Task Sequence in MDT I've used a default-ish one in SCCM, as i've generally got the SCCM TS to do the fancy bits
