Hi all Just wondering if anyone is actually playing the love it, hate it beast that is FF XIV? Meant to do this ages ago so here goes: - World: Besaid - Starting City: Ul'dah - Char Name: Tarquelius Farqua - Play(ed) FF XI? Yes, Lakshumi world - Tarquel - RDM 69 [and I forget the rest but lvl'd WHM / BLM to about 40 and SMN to about 30] - Current Jobs / Ranks: THM50 / CON50 / ARC24 / and a few others. If you're interested, i'm still playing it fairly regularly and would welcome more lovely people to join me EDIT: Have created and fought hard but initially failed to keep a population of EU players in my own Linkshell, but started again and the numbers are growing again. If you want to switch world, at least it doesnt cost anything really And at the current state, its pretty easy to get to a faily decent lvl quite quickly (I got my Archer to Rank15 in less than 2 hrs - probably could have done it in even less duo'ing & running Behest's) Give me a PM on here or a /tell in game if you're in Besaid, or hell, if you want to switch to join us Also, rolecall yourself here too if you are playing.... the official forums is just depressing to read through the moans and gripes continuously hehe Cheers

Hi all Just a quick one... As of now, the beta site is open to beta sign ups: FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Test Application Site (you'll need a SE account - free to sign up - link on that page). Update: The Open Beta itself FINISHES on the 19th so get your skates on if your thinking of trying it. I'm in the Besaid world - PM me for more info as to hookin up etc. Just a FYI really, but PM me if you want to team up etc blah. Also, its worth noting that the required specs are fairly high and treat them as the bare minimum: OS: Windows® XP SP3 *1 Windows Vista®　32-bit / 64-bit SP2 *2 Windows® 7　32-bit / 64-bit *2 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo (2.0 GHz) AMD Athlon X2 (2.0 GHz) RAM: Windows XP: 1.5 GB Windows Vista / Windows 7: 2 GB Hard Disk Space: Installing: 15 GB Downloading: 12 GB on the drive containing the My Documents folder *3 Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600 or higher　VRAM 512 MB Radeon™ HD 2900 or higher　VRAM 512 MB Sound: DirectSound® compatible (DirectX® 9.0) Internet Connection: Broadband (constant connection) Monitor Resolution: 1280 x 720 or higher; 32-bit DirectX: DirectX 9.0c Other: Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad *4 *1 Windows XP users should install, run, and update the game using administrator settings. *2 When using a 64-bit OS, the game will run on WoW64 (Windows on Windows 64). *3 The amount of free space required on the drive containing your My Documents folder has been temporarily changed to reflect an increase in additional data not covered by the beta test installer. *4 A gamepad is recommended, but not required to play the game. There is the official Benchmark program you can use to get a idea of how great [or not so great] your machine can cope with the game. http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/media/benchmark/eu/ (there's instructions on that page on what to do with it) If anyone wants any info on setting up the beta, or has trouble downloading the client files, reply on the thread and I might add some instructions to this post as it can take forever otherwise Note: They've fixed the download servers although you may need to get some of the files first. The patcher should update first [it'll be a red background] in any case and should take care of it. Regards Nath.
