I have put it up - for people that want to read it.. also started a fresh thread to make it more avaialable, rather than tagging onto an old one. I don't see why this should be "hidden" or PM'd. Im upset with both.

Schools broadband for not informing us that they have not been updating lightspeed.. and in fact blaming them on multiple occasions..

Then i part blame Lightspeed systems for not coming out sooner.

Schools Broadband surely must have had reasons not to update. Plus we are only going on Lightspeeds word that with version 3 that everything was fixed when we don't know if that was true or not.

Handbags at dawn.

Very much so. Wish the energy could go into something more productive.

SB have now sent a response out saying parts of the email are factually incorrect

I think they grew far too quickly and are out of their depth. Issues with technical support, slow bandwidth (and then blaming windows update) and the filtering issues point to this conclusion.

I didn't get one either, but lightspeed contacting end users directly doesn't seem right to me. We're not their customer.

How did lightspeed have a copy of all the SB customer email addresses?

i fully agree with this.

"We share information with third parties for the purpose of managing and administering our relationship with our third party dealers and other suppliers."

Schools Broadband terms and conditions, Section 10.1:

https://www.schoolsbroadband.co.uk/assets/28.11.17-Terms-and-Conditions.pdf

I don't speak law-language, but sounds to me like it's distributed under cover of the T&C's, which would explain why LS have it.

Haven't received either email but have to say that's pretty poor from Lightspeed, whatever truth there is to their claims. I've never had a great impression of them and this only cements my thoughts.

I can imagine SB are peeved, but hope this doesn't become too much of a distraction at a time when a lot of us are days away from being migrated to the Netsweeper platform.

I am not with Schools Broadband but have used Lightspeed web filtering for the last 4 to 5 years. We have the on-site Lightspeed Rocket and have never had the issues people are mentioning here. I have changed ISPs once and upgraded our leased line to 100 Mbps in that time. We upgraded to web filter 3 about 3 months ago and received the usual good service. I do not like the new interface as much as the old but that is as far as my complaints go.

I recently had a similar experience of two companies blaming each other and it helped speaking with people who use one company but not the other. I cannot comment on Schools Broadband as I have no experience of their service but only had a few minor filtering issues with Lightspeed which got resolved. I hope it all gets resolved soon. Nothing worse than on-going issues and not having answers for SLTs.

Hi all,

we've an issue with an aggregation router which is being investigated. This is only affecting a small number of customers, not hundreds and hundreds. It isn't Netsweeper or Lightspeed related.

We'll keep you updated.
