  1. They tested the router and said it was getting 80Mbps out of 200Mbps. They are now escalating to the NOC team.
  2. Yes we are. 10Mbps down and 30Mbps Up. 200Mb Leased Line on Lightspeed filter 17.
  3. Hi @Blue_Cookeh, I appreciate what you are saying although i've been using this for years and find it very reliable, I do tend to ping several sites at the same time to verify the results though. As you can see my pings to 8.8.8.8 and bbc.co.uk are in sync (both dropping packet at the same time ).
  4. Not sure what contract you guys have but I have just reviewed our proposal and the details are as follows: A "99.997% service level guarantee which allows for 12 seconds downtime per academic year" (without a DSL backup) and "100% uptime with the DSL backup (which we have). May be worth double checking your agreements.
  5. Filter 17 back up. Couldn't get through to support but sales answered on second ring
  6. Were in the West Midlands and our 200MB Leased Line is currently giving me between 90-110MB down and 60MB-90MB up. So not great but not the slowest either.
  7. Did anyone receive an update at 2:30 and if so are we expecting one at 3:30?
  8. Both our Leased Line and our backup ADSL line are down. Is this issue affecting both services or should the ADSL outage be logged as a separate call?
  9. Thanks for your reply. Yes were passing google traffic through the Proxy Server as the transparent proxy can't interrogate SSL traffic. We have Impero as well but I wouldn't want to risk sending Google traffic without the full Proxy checking.
  10. We have been having issues since yesterday with Google blocking our web searches due to unusual traffic from "our" network, this only appears to be affecting our Windows 7 Machines. Within Internet explorer we receive an unlimited number of reCaptcha messages so cannot continue, within Chrome the reCaptcha is slightly different and does work after a minute or so of trying. The IP address specified within the error message is for Filter 17 so it's not necessarily our site that is causing the problem, as such I was just wondering if anyone else was having this issue (particularly on Filter 17). This has been logged with SB however I was just wondering is anyone had any ideas on why this would only be a Windows 7 Issue and of any possible work around?
  11. We have today received email confirmation that Schools Broadband are moving over to Netsweeper.
  12. I received an email from Schools Broadband last night (extract below), this seems to suggest that they are sticking with Lightspeed and not moving over to a different provider? I am happy as I have been asking for this upgrade for quite some time as Lightspeed version 3 supports transparent SSL filtering. >>> Advisory - Lightspeed Systems Cluster Upgrades Talk Straight / Schools Broadband Network Operations Centre (NOC) are committed to making regular network changes in accordance with network usage to offer our customers the best possible service. We have been working towards upgrading our Lightspeed Systems rocket platform from version 2 to version 3 over the last few months. This major release brings with it increased reliability along with some of its latest features. As version 2 support is coming to an end we will be upgrading all of our clusters over the Christmas / New Year period when impact can be kept to a minimum. We will thoroughly test the platform prior to your return in the new year to ensure this transition runs as smoothly as possible Change Freeze We will be implementing a change freeze window over the Christmas holidays for Lightspeed Systems modifications. We recommend that any non-urgent changes are left until after the upgrade as this may cause them to revert.
  13. We use filter 17 and so far we appear to be working OK, albeit not at our full speed. A speed test on our 200Mb line is currently reporting around 145 Mbps download but only 62 Mbps up.
  14. Ok thanks for the replies. At least I know it's not just us now.
  15. Hi all, Anyone else having Internet connectivity issues this morning? Can't get hold of Schools Broadband support so just wondering if it is a national issue or just a Schools Broadband problem. Thanks Kev
