I'm up for it! I can do Monday, Thursday or Friday in half term (or a weekend). Will know early next week if I'm free on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Speak to @GrumbleDook, he can give you some manglement speak to make it sound like a knees up at the pub is actually a CPD event...

Something like this?

-------

Hi [Headtecher's/Line Manager's name]

I've been selected to attend a free, peer-led CPD event in [location], on [date].

The agenda looks pretty packed but some of the areas of expertise that I'll be able to tap into are quite pertinent to some of our plans over the next [3 months / 6 months / 12 months / 3 years] and will help to ensure we keep a focus on the benefits tech can bring to education, whilst also keeping a track on risks. We may even have the opportunity to chat with NHS staff who had to deal with the recent ransomeware issue.

So far, there are delegates with expertise in [get a rough idea of the skills of those going but make it relevant to your school's needs].

The event itself is free [so we only need to cover travel to / and I will cover the travel costs to] [location].

-------

How does that sound?

I left education last month! Whereabouts would it be held and would I still be allowed to attend, if I could?

Sorry, we will be checking credentials at the door... ;)

Well... you're still a Geek... and you worked in Education... so I would have thought that would count. ;)

Anyway, EduGeek is more of a community is it not? :)

Who said you had to be in schools for Edubytes? Being an Edugeek is sufficient :)

Anyway I am not in paid employment at a school either :D
