jmak Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) Still don't know whether to go for the 3T or the Pixel XL.. OnePlus have let me down many times and I'm not a fan of the company but I like the phones Now that you can buy them through O2, you shouldn't have to deal with the company direct... webman Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 I've just upgraded from a 2+ year old Moto X 2nd Gen to a Huawei P9. Happy to answer any questions on if anyone's considering it
Sheepy Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Having had the Samsung Note 3 and Note 4 then selling my note 4 ready for the Note7 and that whole fiasco happened. I then decided to opt for a one plus 3 from O2 and I can honestly say I have 0 regrets. The battery is not the best but far from the worst. It charges in mins up to a standard that would last for hours. And best of all its fast all the time.. with the Ram it has I can now happily run custom launchers instead of the standard ones.. something I could never do with the notes as I felt it affected how fast the phone ran
Arreks Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Now that you can buy them through O2, you shouldn't have to deal with the company direct... Wasn't only my dealings with them that annoyed me Carl basically admitted that the OP2 was a failure - and they've essentially lost interest in maintaining it to focus on the 3T which sucks if you're like me who still use the OP2 and want an upgrade to Nougat I'll probably still get the 3T, but I'll hate myself a little bit for getting it.

Now I'm annoyed - with them and myself for being undemanding.... I've always been irritated by the lack of NFC, but was happy that I still had bought the best phone I could have without spending a lot more money. Nothing like the person who sold you the thing telling you it's a piece of poop to make you feel like a mug.
jmak Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Oneplus caught cheating in benchmark tests: http://bgr.com/2017/02/01/oneplus-3t-benchmark-cheating/
Garacesh Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Popular Android manufacturer OnePlus caught cheating in benchmark tests – BGR Realistically I don't think that's too bad, if and only if, the increased performance during a benchmark is accurately indicative of the phones performance under load (i.e. the phone does actually ramp up its CPU for games etc like the claim.) It's still a bit shady and underhanded, though.
synaesthesia Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 It's not too bad at all - after all, how many times have Samsung been caught doing exactly the same, and how many times have Apple lied outright (then again, have they *ever* told the truth?) Sad state of affairs to say it's fairly normal practice these days to get one-up Still, I'd have my OP3 over any other device on the market today with the exception of the T
Garacesh Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I mean I'm not going to let them completely off the hook.. If think if they were going to do this they should've done it properly and had the phone detect when load was high and increase accordingly (which I'd imagine a benchmark would have put it under high enough load to trigger) rather than be looking for specific apps.
Tesla Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Still VERY tempted to trade in my iphone and get the one plus 3t, but still have to pay off four months of my bill (which is about £20 less than the value of my phone if i trade it in) decisions decisions..........
Arthur Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 128GB 3T is now available to pre-order for £439. Virtual hoarders, rejoice! The OnePlus 3T Gunmetal 128 GB is now available for pre-order. https://oneplus.net/oneplus-3t
Tesla Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 128GB 3T is now available to pre-order for £439. Am I missing something? This has been out for a while, no? I have had my eye on this for a couple of months and bought the phone a couple of weeks ago and have now had it since Thursday the 9th?
ataylor Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 My Note 4 has just died, trying to decide what to replace it with. 1
Arthur Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 (edited) Am I missing something? This has been out for a while, no? The 128GB model was out-of-stock for a while, but you are right. It was available previously. www.androidpolice.com/2017/02/10/128gb-oneplus-3t-available-pre-order The gunmetal grey 128GB variant of the 3T was included in the main announcement back in November. It seems that while a 128GB version has been available before now, it may (or may not, it's very difficult to tell) have only been in limited quantities. It looks like OnePlus is following in the footsteps of Apple and Google, offering a very high capacity storage phone for extra cash, while continuing to sell the lower capacity variants too. The 128GB variant is only available with the gunmetal color; when I looked on both the UK and US site, soft gold was only selling in 64GB. Edited February 21, 2017 by Arthur 1

GrumbleDook Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Looking to get a new work phone, has to be Android (will also do some testing on it) so would folk say that this is the best on the market at the moment to go for?

Ditto, got my Moto X Force which is still pretty hard to beat, but battery getting worse now.
synaesthesia Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Still extraordinarily happy with my 1+3, it's not the T but it's been rock solid and it still feels as quick now as when it was released despite the hoards of crap I've put on it 1
Arthur Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) will also do some testing on it If your testing involves anything photo or video related or testing stuff on the latest version of Android I would go with the Google Pixel or Pixel XL. Otherwise get the OnePlus 3T. I am still pleased with my Pixel XL. It also has the best camera in any smartphone. Edited February 24, 2017 by Arthur

It is more a case of testing performance of our software, following QA scripts and new features / betas of our software. Looks like this is the one I'll go for then, unless anyone has a better recommendation.
