'Though at the bottom of the screen it states Battery saver turns off automatically when your device is charging.' which appears to be different to other Android phones as @Boredguy's phone doesn't switch out of Battery saver mode during charging. Anyone know if there is a way to keep this setting on when charging, or to automatically re-enable it when off charge? Edited July 20, 2016 by DJ-1701

Unfortunately though it still takes the phone off charging when you plug it into the PC... and I have found my phone drain dramatically. :S Seems to be a standard feature of Android to remove it from battery saver when charging, although it seems @Boredguy's HTC does not have that caveat. I assume HTC have manipulated the option.
DJ-1701 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 3.2.2 update is out. Yeah, phone popped up with that a couple of days ago, it's good to see they bother with updates unlike some manufacturers. Due to holding the the phone in an awkward position, I noticed it has a new feature of pocket mode where if you cover the top of the screen it thinks it's in your pocket.

A lot of phones have that. They use the frontal camera to detect if something is blocking the front of the phone, and if it is, they turn the display off. There's an option for it in settings. It's supposed to be so if your phone is in your pocket or bag, and you knock the power button, it doesn't turn the screen on and waste battery.

Doesn't really help me on a hill side during a Mountain Rescue when I'm trying to access some information and there isn't a way to turn it off.

On my phone it's in Settings, Display, "Keep screen turned off" (Prevent the screen from turning on accidentally while the device is in a dark place such as a pocket or bag."

gshaw Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) Just received my OP3 today, first impressions... - quick delivery, arrived well before the predicted delivery date - lovely design, screen goes right to the edge of the chassis, who needs an SG7 Edge! Nice touch to have the pre installed screen protector already fitted as well. - it's fast, very very fast... installed all my apps quicker than I could tap them in the store - Dash Charge is fantastic, never managed to get hold of the Quick Charge kit for my One M8 so very impressed having this in the box - AMOLED screen is different to the M8, nicer blacks but slightly less true colours somehow. Tried the sRGB mode but didn't like it so reverted back - camera very snappy, bit too dull outside to get a good idea what it can do so jury out on that so far - launcher icon DPI looks a bit low, some icons seem to be a tad fuzzy where they've been scaled up too large. Needs a little tweak to allow the small icons option from home screen to also apply to the launcher. Overall rather pleased, done my best to make it look like HTC Sense as I'm so used to that UI having had it for the best part of 10 years across many devices but like how Oneplus have kept their tweaks subtle. The only worrying thing is some users reporting issues with Android Auto, really hope it works OK for me as I use it heavily in my Leon, especially after the last update where Google finally sorted out the connection issues that have plagued it since launch. gshaw Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) Well that didn't last long, looks like it'll be going back on RMA within the next couple of days. 4G signal stability is appalling, keeps falling back to H mode the majority of the time and it seems I'm not the only one with issues judging by threads in the UK subforum No one else on here had the same issues? It's a shame as I like the phone generally but a smartphone without stable mobile data isn't all that smart. Edited August 5, 2016 by gshaw

Which network are you on?

Which network are you on? Vodafone, with their coverage going LTE only will give me a lot of black spots but will give it a try

synaesthesia Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Signal strength for 4G here is far stronger than anything else I've had, on GiffGaff (O2). It's rare to be in an area round here without good, strong 4G coverage so can't say I've noticed any problems like that.

Some people suggesting that update has been responsible for the problems and it did install on my OP3 during initial setup.
