So, my cheap Motorola's death seems to be quickening. 80% charge before bed then 9% when I got up this morning. I don't believe in fate but it must be fate.

Im looking for an excuse also. :)

I found the Huawei P8 a little under spec for the price and the overall look is a little too square box but again each to their own, if it works for you then that's all that matters :)

Got it for £150 sim-free during a Carphone Warehouse flash sale earlier this year. Definitely wouldn't have paid close to the £350 or whatever it RRPs for!

Yes it's a little squareish but I've had a case on it for it's whole life and haven't really noticed it tbh.

I've had my fair share of no-name Chinese Android phones, but it's nice to not have to worry about freezing/unreliability/returning it back to China etc.

Build quality is very good and I haven't had any major problems with it in the ~5 months I've owned it.

Well its here!!

Niceee!

Played with a friend's OnePlus 2 over the weekend. Felt like it weighed a ton! Nice to see the OP3 is thinner and lighter.

@bossman That was quick! I haven't yet accidentally on purpose hit the buy button. I get buyers remorse for anything above a tenner. I guess that's not unusual coming from a Yorkshireman.

Sorry to hear that, I have owned all three of the OnePlus models, still have the OP2 my daughter has my OP1 and they still as good as when I first bought them, the only issues I had was with the OP2 fingerprint scanner which they have now sorted.

I run lots of apps but don't mess with firmware just the usual OnePlus updates and I have been impressed with the cost, the build quality and the operation of the units.

Just my opinion but value for money they are probably the best on the market :)

Oh they're definitely good quality, my OP2 is going strong.

I just don't want to invest any more money in that company, their support were rude in two separate instances and whilst their support doesn't reflect the company as a whole they seem to care little about their customers (nor do they really listen to feedback from the community or developers on the Forums) which is quite important for me ;)

I have heard this sentiment from many people.

I would do exactly the same if I had been in your shoes, I have had no experience of the support as I have never required any as I have mentioned before all devices going strong after 2 years.

There is always the problem though if you move to another manufacturer in that their support maybe even worse, better the devil you know than the devil you don't!

@Garacesh

This could be said about many mobile phone manufacturers though from reading the different forums could it not?

Of course it could, but the advantage of using a "common" mobile phone manufacturer is that most "common" handsets are taken out as part of a contract, which allows you to negotiate a resolution with your carrier. Due to the nature of the method of purchase, this isn't really available to OnePlus owners, which (if their lack of acceptable support really is to be believed - I have no personal experience) will exacerbate any issues.

I've got my formal head on 'cause I'm writing documentation.

If your phone is faulty, you can often get a replacement from your carrier. Can't do that with OnePlus, which I reckon makes up a huge chunk of the problems.

Hmm! how quaint of you to answer in such a fashion, I agree with you that you are much more likely to get better service with a replacement from a common carrier but then again I have never experienced any such misgivings with any of my OP units unlike other manufacturers I could name, my daughter has had quite a number of different mobiles to which she has always had issues, until she got my OP1 unit which is now 2 years old she has had no issues whatsoever,

You pays your money and you takes your choice, I happen to think that I have found a manufacturer who builds a decent phone for the money and I am willing to back that up by purchasing it. Like most things in life you have to experience the worst to experience the best and there are a lot of bad units out there.

That's just my opinion from experience :)

Have had good experience with their support, during the great accidental triple order when paypal freaked out, refunded promptly. I think part of the problem is they are catering to nerds who want to fiddle and modify and root their devices, I have kept my OP2 on oxygen and not had any issues with it, fingerprint was a bit slow but recent update sorted that. If I were paying £600 for an S7 I would expect top notch support, but when its half the price for a phone of the same standard?

I'd agree, were they not touting themselves as "We're the same as all the big-boys, but we're not charging 300% profit".

I expect the same level of customer service from a company that tries develop its image that way.

Thanks @bossman I am holding off my order until the sandstone cases are back in stock.

Do the banking apps work ok or are they only affected by rooted phones?

Its only rooted phones that have this issue. Vast majority of rooted android phones do.

I will be watching this thread with interest! Looking at upgrading my phone in the next 2/3 months and I am torn between the One Plus 3, Nexus 6P or the new Nexus that will come out later this year

Hhhnngrgh. Getting REALLY annoyed now. Still no sign of my device being shipped, a lot of others reporting similar delays and their CS is being less than helpful. So much so, that I raised a dispute on my PayPal transaction, for them to inform me that would then put back any order or resolution by up to 14 days. Simply put, I need a phone or a refund by the middle of next week. Neither, according to them is possible as "that's now how their system works"; for a refund I'd have to refuse the parcel for an item that's not even been shipped yet and then wait up to 30 days for a refund. I'm quite sure that's not even legal...
