  1. Thanks all, we have been in the process of centralizing our network for while now. As we a Trust network which all the schools are on. We are thinking the following AD/GPO - Either Full Azure AD/Entra/InTune setup or just using our cloud DC's DNS/DHCP - Cloud AD servers/Fotigates OS Deployment - Autopliot We have been moving to cloud services were we can so we have the Cloud version of Civca cashless. So we might look into getting some small factor pcs for systems like NET2. We use the Sign App SCR as we have Sign In App across our trust already.
  2. Hey! I've been asked to start investgating moving some of our primarys to a serverless enviorment. We have some questions on how to implement it and how to manage things like Autopliot and other services NET2. We are currently a hybrid trust with central hosted services and each school with its own server. Would be happy to have a Teams call if anyone is happy to have chat. Kieran
  3. We've seen on some devices that it is running the MDT deployment behind the 'Getting Ready' window. Sometimes you can also press SHIFT+F10 or CTRL+ALT+DEL to get rid of the 'getting ready' window.
  4. Action1 is free for 200 devices now. We use it for server management and its pretty good and I use it manage some personal devices and would highly recommend it. https://www.action1.com/
  5. We use Schools ICT and they are good. Used with SIMS and Arbor https://www.schoolicts.co.uk
  6. When we used to do Traded Services for IT in primary's, we used to get them to replace the server (as the schools we looked after normally had really old kit) with either new or refurb. Then just spin up new servers on the new server and migrate the services over. When it came to AD we used to re-do all the group policy's outside the schools current AD structure them when we came in we would just move all the users and groups into the new structure. Then transfer the roles during the migration period in the holidays. The worst part was migrating SIMS lol
  7. We use Barracuda for this. Seems to work well, pricing is based on staff and students are free. We also use Cloud to Cloud backup service which is good.
  8. We signed up for Canva as it's free for EDU
  9. There is some decent gaming monitors on Amazon. Got this one for my other half https://www.amazon.co.uk/CRUA-Frameless-Computer-FreeSync-DisplayPort/dp/B0BKSRX87X/ref=sr_1_11?crid=1L71A82BG9ZZQ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Ya-qq2T0iVkDn-BQzF8ClX_VExJQ-B8vUk0vHYlJHnYmVKuYnhxu4h8eu6BJUc6YEpoLn00tr1QJZI1UvOqzEPXuwhuRQnokpOBVfFZCndgihnfKLjpgJg6N008SIOCkjF4WMlzKiwPoKWpoUBArMmlWf-ChIG2RbzNKrYYmBj02jvFyc04ABFNvnmlNr6KarNrFoASbt8ZFM309J1-M-u2JP0tqGu5kan8QwL5meDI.5wnhxVehwdVaOLk13RFMincDygiWPAlbI9RGV8fudmY&dib_tag=se&keywords=gaming+monitor&qid=1711472727&sprefix=gaming+m%2Caps%2C70&sr=8-11&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.d7e5a2de-8759-4da3-993c-d11b6e3d217f Seems to work pretty well for the price
  10. they quote us £912 + VAT to install the service lol
  11. We use GDPRiS and use the training with staff. Staff have told me its quite easy for them to report data breaches etc using the platform and said the training was better compared to the national college.
  12. These are the options we use. You can also deploy it group policy and configure Duo with Group policy so you dont have to do it on each server. (Again thats how we do it). Make sure to leave the bypass feature enabled as when you have no internet it won't promoted for it. Unless you want to setup offline codes for every server you have.
  13. It wasn’t bad. We managed to get a discount from our supplier, if you purchase around February time you can get a bit more of a discount as they seem to be end of financial year sales. Barracuda is licensed by your FTE count and will cover all your students for free, so we have the email protection for all and the backup solution for all. Ended up paying £27.92 per FTE for email protection with advanced bits (which is AI based spam protection and removes it from the users mailbox before they see it) and £13.76 per FTE for the backup solution.
  14. We used to use this https://clockify.me/
  15. the free version of PDQ deploy might work, you can manually pick what username and password you want it to use.
  16. you can setup a dev tenant here: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/dev-program
  17. We use this! It works really well and users didn't really notice any difference while we switched over (apart from the spam filtering being a lot better, as it blocked genuine externals as they had there email misconfigured). The ATP features seem to work a lot better then the Office 365 ones. Things you just need to careful of when you move is to make sure you turn off Office 365's ATP otherwise users will go through a double link check. We also got the cloud backup solution which works really well as it covers all users whether they are staff or students. There support is also very good, also been really helpful when we have needed to speak to them. We also looked at ProofPoint and Mimecast.
  18. Last time we did this, we made them sign the AUP and gave them a restricted account with locked down address books and everything. Sometimes we will prefix the account with [email protected] It allows us to give access to school resources and allows us to apply our retention periods and other policies. If there on long-term contracts we get them added to Arbor and then there account can be managed by Salamander so once there contract is over it can be disabled automaticly.
  19. We use the Dovestones tools before look for unused devices https://dovestones.com/active-directory-reporting/
  20. Do them as DNS only
  21. Thanks everyone, i'll check out your answers
  22. Cloudflare is good and free and offers some basic security services under the free plan. Office 365 comes with free dns hosting
  23. Hello Geeks, Over the summer holidays, we've new PCs and interactive TV installed. In these rooms where they have interactive TVs (old & new tvs) the pcs are losing the Intel Audio for the speakers in the TVs as we are running the audio over the HDMI cables. The only way we can get these back is to reboot the computers which isn't always convenient mid-way through a lesson. I've updated the drivers on the computers to the latest version (UHD 730/101.3413) and the problem is still happening and tried different cables. Does anyone know of any settings or hacks we can do the either the tvs or the computers to stop it from happening? Thanks as always!
  24. I think its this your looking for https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/dev-program
  25. Hiya I've been asked by one of the primary schools, what the best way to setup blogging for students to use. Is there any cloud services we can use to do this? We are a Office 365 school if we can do any of it online. Thanks for help as all ways! K
