Going to resuscitate this thread a little to point out that the OnePlus 5 will be revealed tomorrow at 5pm - https://oneplus.net/uk/launch

 

I'm hoping that, with the launch of the OP5, the 3T might reduce in price! My OP1 still works great, but the lack of OxygenOS updates is making me jumpy... I tried Paranoid Android 6.0.2 this weekend, but it's not certified with Google, so no Android Pay... Among other things.

Mine too! Been using it since I broked my S7 Edge :( At £300 to fix the screen I might as well just save up a few extra quid and buy a new phone!

I'm using Sultan CM, which works with Android Pay. (And Barclays Pay thing)

Unlikely. The 3T has already been discontinued.

With the imminent launch of the OnePlus 5, the Never Settle company today announced that it will stop selling the OnePlus 3T. The company notes that it has limited stocks of the handset in its warehouse in Europe and UK and once it runs out, it will not be restocking the handset.

I literlally bought my 3T and got it delivered about 2 weeks before they annouced the 5 coming out soon. Having said that, I'm very happy with it - especially having dual sim. My 10+ years of having to carry two phones aroundwith me are finnaly over! :)

I wish they wouldn't release the 5 so soon after the 3T :p

 

I guess it's their ecosystem, they only tend to do flagship level phones, so to stay with the game they have to renew what they offer constantly.

I don't. I haven't bought a OnePlus since my One, and I think depending on what's confirmed (or confirmed not) with the 5 launch will decide on whether I repair my S7 Edge or not :p

I think OP5 is metal because there's a dark grey line at the top of the phone for the antennas.

 

Hopefully one of the cases will have the same sandstone texture as the OnePlus One? :)

Ah yes, the 3T had those cases but they're all sold out... Which makes me want one less. ;)

Anybody wanting to purchase a OnePlus 5, the Early Drop code is 'Clearer Photos'

 

I have to admit I'm sorely tempted, but at almost twice the cost of repairing my S7 Edge (£300 repair, £551.33 OnePlus 5, Dash charger and protective case), I'm not 100% convinced by it. It's pretty difficult to justify for not getting much extra.

 

The dual camera is really nice, but I don't really take photos at all. 1080p is a good choice for battery life, but the S7 Edge is 1440p. The processor isn't much better, and the S7 Edge has a larger battery.

 

It's tempting.. But I think I'm gonna go with repairing my S7 Edge.

Meh. Side by side, my original OP3 seems as good as and in some cases far beyond an S7 Edge. There's no discernible difference in display quality certainly and I prefer the photos from my OP3. And the omission of an SD card slot is hardly an issue in a high capacity phone of this level... it amuses me that people will cry for weeks about androids not having SD Card slots yet happy their shiny-shiny-no-brainy apple devices don't even have headphone sockets.

Still it looks like a nice new phone. £550 worth of a new phone though? Nope :( The £330 mark for the OP3 was an awesome price point and would find it very hard to justify to anyone that higher price when compared to other flagship models; including the shinyshinies.

I genuinely don't understand why it's such a big deal. Who the heck uses 64GB of space on their phone? Even if you're literally taking hundreds of photos every day... Transfer them to your PC! >.<

Aye, I've barely touched the 64GB on mine with countless photos and video, a fair few albums and a couple of movies to keep the kids entertained during car journeys and don't even think it's half full.

Do NOT Trust OnePlus 5 Benchmarks in Reviews – How our Review Unit is Grossly Cheating at Benchmarks

 

Earlier this year, we published a report that denounced OnePlus (and other companies) for their improper behavior in regards to benchmark manipulation on newer builds of OxygenOS. Today, we sadly must follow-up on our accusations as the company has once more been inappropriately manipulating benchmark scores in the OnePlus 5.

 

While no customers have a device in their hands (it just launched after all), we have learned about OnePlus’ new benchmark cheating mechanism through our review unit, which we received about ten days ago before the day the embargo breaks and reviewers are allowed to report on the device. Unfortunately, it is almost certain that every single review of the OnePlus 5 that contains a benchmark is using misleading results, as OnePlus provided reviewers a device that cheats on benchmarks. This is an inexcusable move, because it is ultimately an attempt to mislead not just customers, but taint the work of reviewers and journalists with misleading data that most are not able to vet or verify. As a result, every OnePlus 5 review citing benchmark scores as an accolade of the phone’s success is misleading both writers and readers, and performance analyses based on synthetic benchmarks are invalidated. What is worse is that, this time around, the cheating mechanism is blatant and aimed at maximizing performance, unlike last time which did not increase scores by much on average, but did reduce variance and thermal throttling, as we found.

£550? Am I missing something? The UK website says "Starting from £449", which I'm guessing is the 6GB RAM cheaper option. Still really quite expensive, though, as tempted as I am. It's a shame, they've drifted from the old "Flagship Killer" mentality of having a viable alternative for a much cheaper price, which drew me in originally with the OP1. I guess it is still cheaper than other flagship spec phones...
