How we calculate scores

 

The track plays at 120 beats per minute, which means a beat plays every 500 milliseconds. Your score represents how close you were to the correct timing.

 

• If you're spot on, you get 50 points.
  
• You will lose a point for every two milliseconds you were off by.
  
• You will score no points if you're off by 100ms or more.
  

At the end, we add up all of your points, and that gives you your final score.

Mainly yes - but its everyones job to keep the rhythm going as if you start to drift you can take others with you (its weird, you can adapt subconsiously sometimes). Plus there are sections where the drummer will drop out and everyone else keeps going etc

 

However I emailed this over to our drummer who came back with a 867 (but thinks the site is wrong....) - maybe we are generally a rubbish band!!

Well, sometimes. But if you are playing on your own it is down to you. And if you have ever played with lots of other people (behave at the back!) you will know that everyone has a slightly different way of hearing the beat - some early, and some late.

Very clever, @witch. Well, piano is technically percussion so I should be good at beating things. (I often describe myself as a drummer trapped in a pianist's body.) You, on the other hand, should be used to blowing it.
