I'm after a bit of software for Windows 10 that can lock an applications position and size so it can't be moved? Anyone got any clues?

Definitely agree there @dapaulio - we've just got rid of our Exchange server so it seems there is a space for one now! Fortunately for Drive Maps, the security permissions seem to have botched that one!

I LOVE YOU. I have been trying to source this all week so far with no luck. We don't have a WSUS server though, so removing on 300 machines may be difficult...

Had the upgrade deployed today, which also cleared our settings panel @rypowell - fortunately I took a backup of the Impero Server 'Data' folder (I think they should add this to their upgrade steps). Stopped the service, copied the folder, restarted - sorted. Credit where it's due, this version (5.3.25) does seem to be bringing a fair few of our clients back online. So hopefully it's positive from here on out.

Okay @Mic_Impero I've just emailed your support, but if you're recommending the upgrade to V5.3.25, please could we have it ASAP? I'm currently re-imaging our main ICT suite and without the aid of Impero, it's taking a fair bit of time. Thanks!

WORKAROUND/FIX FOR 'UNABLE TO CONTACT THE IMPERO SERVER' ERROR Uninstall the Windows Server 2008R2 KB3156417 Update. Voilà. Not ideal, but if you need Impero then that'll do it.

Nothing is hitting the Impero Server, restarted the server, the services, the clients etc etc etc 'Unable to contact Impero Server' Would appreciate help ASAP. Currently don't see a reason to renew our contract when it doesn't even work? Also getting increasingly bored of being told by the Impero support number to 'leave a message'... "The lights are on, but nobody's home"

So, let me be the one to ask the obvious question: In summary... What can we really do? We use SOPHOS here which, as mentioned, is hit and miss for deployment - never mind actually picking things up! File extensions are locked down in shared drives (exceptions in one folder, to allow Small Basic applications to run). But isn't this one of those situations where you can only be re-active? Not pro-active? WE don't know what hideous ransomware is going to come out next, so can't really stop it? Or can we... Am I missing something?

If I'm honest I'm fairly new to NOVA and how the timetable works. Being that I'd never really used it and the head was wanting print outs, I assumed the best way would be to send it to SIMS?

I don't do the timetable, but I export it from NOVA and print etc. Some staff have worked out that by changing their 'effective date' they can see the new timetable, however we really don't want staff to see it yet! We're exporting it to SIMS purely for printing purposes for the HT etc. How can I stop them from doing this? Or is there no way?

PE have asked me to price up an iPad (for recording for GCSE classes etc. primarily). I'm all for it, I've used iPads in a network in the past and they're great (so long as they're not shared... - however I haven't experienced the new iOS which supposedly helps this). At the moment, it's just the one iPad so how would I be best configuring it? Should I just set it up as a standalone thing and deploy it? Or should I look at setting it up with some MDM (say Meraki) in preparation for them buying more - which no doubt would happen. Thanks!

It may very well end up being shared around multiple people, and getting people to understand they need to 'Enable Content' to edit some documents is bad enough. Never mind telling them to 'Enable Macros'...

Hello, I'm trying to do data validation on a cell so that the user can only pick from a list, and it forces upper case - however if they enter it in lower case, it won't error it will just convert it? Is this possible without VB?

When I try to adjust the items in this list I get a #N/A or the wrong value? I've updated your =FOODS group and changed the VLOOKUP table, but it just errors? Bug with Office 2013 or incorrect forumla? EDIT: FIXED. Just had to add into the VLOOKUP to find an EXACT match :-)
